hi i am new to the almera gti have just got mine having alot of trouble with jurking at low revs when moving but is ok when reving up tried setting the throttle control and alos the timeing am stumpped now any help would be great guys thanks also just done all engine mounts and makes now diffrence..:confused:

hi yes its standered its that jerky it feels like the engines going to come out its ok when up the revs but say i am doin 30 it starts and when i put my foot down it hesatates for a while before it starts to pull could it be the plugs and leads?

No it's normal something to do with the throttle position sesnor reads at once placeor some thing every GTi does it. You just have to give it a bit more revs.

when i change the postion of the throttle censor have i got to do anything to save it what would happen if i disconected it would it run?

Glad to see this posted, I thought I was just a crap driver cos I have never come across this before in any other car ive driven.... Mine will jerk at low revs if I give it a tiny bit of a blip and is a bit lazy on throttle response also. Found I have to drive very smoothly to try to stop it

theres nothing you can do to stop it, check around the engine mounts though if they are worn it can make it feel worse than it is...

not a solution thats widely known, ever gti Ive owned has done it as does my current pulsar, you just have to learn to drive round it by feathering the clutch.

ha ha i would love to dont think i can cope with this i can see me gettin another mk2 golf...

I thought that also but before I got the Almera. A trip down the m25 in a 16v mk2 during rush-hour with very little in the line of brakes, kinda put pay to that though. Alot to be said for the reliability factor with the Almera, the old Golfs can be an absolute balls if you dont get a good one, spent lots of time on the side of the road due to Golf's but I still love them........ lots of boring stories in that department

worn mounts are noticeable at speeds above 30mph too though. my GTi when i first brought it use to buck and jump at low speeds. oil service, new air filter and spark plugs at the time made a big difference.
