I think Corbs is running GTi suspension on his SRi, cant remember if he rated them though!
Aye I've got GTi shocks and springs and they do make a difference to SRi ones, feels more rigid and nimble, and bounces a lot less! Although my old rear shocks were on their way out. Will be good to see what difference the strut braces make when I get them. However I think you would need to use GTi lowering springs, as I don't think non-GTi ones fit and vice versa. But using GTi shocks as an uprated version could work.

im lookin to drop my car by 40mm all round,w as wondering if any1 cud point me towards to a place where i can get the springs from? my back is lowered by 35mm but i wanna drop it some more all round to give it a better look. i dont want to lower it too much, cos i got a front splitter, what do ppl think? 35mm or 40mm?

Damo, what tyre profile are you running with those 17s? I've got some 15s waiting to go on and want to use 50 profiles, but if your 17s and 35mm drop are leaving just enough room under your splitter for a phone, smaller wheels will leave my chassis lower on similar profile tyres unless I'm mistaken (does ths make sense? reading it back it doesn't, lol). Just a bit worried bout speedbumps as there are plenty around here.

A standard Si, with 15/50's, shouldn't hit any, if it's not lowered.

Although, I do know what them speed bumps are like in North Wales.

There obsessed.

depends how you drive over the speed bumps. if you try to straddle them, then you might have a problem, but if your not lowered then it will be fine. a 50 profile on 15s might make the speedo read faster than your going though.

205/40/17 is my tyre spec. You will be fine on 195/50/15's lowered or not, dont really have much trouble with speed bumps to be honest, ramps are an issue sometimes though!

well mines lowered now by 35mm, with the standard gti wheels, and they also have the lower profiles on of 195/50/15. i havent really had any problems with speed bumps apart from once, that was one of them narrow and quite high bumps though!! i dont have the front splitter though, so i dnt know how much difference that would make?

with 50 profiles on your 15's your car will only be slightly lower,(like 3mm or something) and that spliter is way bigger/deeper than a gti item, and its a big ass phone, you shouldnt have any bother

Porsche 996 Turbo 2003 onwards. Doubt you will find one anywhere unless your feeling brave enough to rob one off a Porsche! Got mine from a main dealer, mate of a mate works in one and this was in their parts bin!!!
wtf is wrong with that part can't see anything wrong with it ?

Just a small point... Since fitting the GTi suspension I reckon my SRi sits lower at the back, but the front is still up in the air (The front arch is really tall anyway). Currently running 50's on 15's (Used to be 55 profile), was contemplating a 35mil or 40mil drop at the front only just to bring it back into line, but I'm not sure whether it's the way GTi springs were designed to cope with a heavier front that has caused it to face upwards?

the car looks taller from the front any way because the rear arch is lower
