headlights :S

haha i know this sounds horrible but i dont care because atleast i can see. lol. but at the same time there aint actually many people flash me as if to say turn your high beem off.

haha. oh and also mate no hid's are really easy to fit, i cut the plugs off the back of my headlights and soldered them on but that was cos mine were supposed to be on summit like a fto but you can get proper ones that are just plug and play. simples.

Yes just as I thought I passed the mot with some slight adjustments to the passenger headlight. this was due to me putting on the coilovers so I adjusted them slightly higher.

Be careful buying replacement headlights from auction sites.

At the time of the recall a number appeared. I'm not saying they were removed units, but.........

Phase 1 dipped headlights are not brilliant but mine are OK with Phillips Bluevision Plus (50% light more than standard, pure white).
Am thinking of trying the Osram Nightbreakers (90% more than standard, very slightly whiter)
I use autobulbsdirect.co.uk but you'll find cheaper.

From what I understand not having washers or auto-leveling is not an MOT fail so long as HIDs are aligned properly.
Even if it failed a direct-replacement kit can be swapped back to standard in time for the free re-test.

However, I think there is a legal requirement to have washers and auto-leveling with HIDs and that the entire HID-equipped headlight unit meets strict testing for beam pattern etc so the police/VOSA could do you for HID bulb replacement kit if they wanted to and your insurance may get sniffy as it's considered an illegal mod.

MOT is just a basic checklist, it does not prove your car is legal for use on the roads.
