hello (love almera's)

yeah might look into that for next year, cheers for that might hopefully see a few of you at pod tomorrow, ill let you know my times when i get back,
:)

traction!!!! lack of!

hi went to santapod sunday, it was sh!t! i got there at 9:30 - 10:00 and signed on hten got in the que! sat there for 2 HOURS! for my first race then another 2 hours for the second race, finished my second race at 2:30 then thought sod this im off, there was motor bikes lorries demo cars all racing! even tho the was more cars than any thing else racing they let everything else go first! what a pisstake!
anyway my biggest problem was getting the power down another pisstake, as ive only had my new clutch in for not even a week i havent had much practice on my launching,
my first run was a 16.6! as i got off the line as i let the clutch off it spun up in 1st, got grip then spun up in 2nd, gop grip again then wheel hopped in 3rd! crap!
my second run was 15.9 as i got off the line as i let the clutch off gently off the line in 1st to get going then spun up in 2nd, gop grip again then wheel hopped in 3rd! again crap!
ive just got to practice getting my starting right, any suggestions any one my max power is at 5900rpm, i change gear abt 6500-7000 is this why?
the track was a bit slippery mind as a lot of old demo cars where dumping their guts all over the track throughout the day,

I take mine all the way to 7k..when dragging. Shows HP isn't everything :P

Pod was pretty slippy when I was there though.

Stu has yours been rolling roaded at 165bhp- i thought it would be more than that. Mines ad same sorta performance mods and it was rolling roaded at 182bhp. I spose you said you still av the CAT, duno how mich difference that makes

..... i dont trust flywheel figures ....what was your wheel hp figure? Stu has 145whp, a standard sr20 118whp ish.

yeah ive got a dyno'd 145whp, i dont know if you have to run in a new clutch or not? i did let a bit of air out on my second run but not alot tiny bit! but got me a 15.9 down from a dismal 16.6, still havent got my engine mounts from usa yet either, should be here this week, my rear mount has a small spit in it which aint the best in the world but it stood up too a thrashing at the pod, ive just fitted a new induction kit from a gti-r its a lot bigger than the old one, gonna take my cat out and run it over to castle combe and get it on the rollers for some mapping, as i fitted my boost valve, bigger ind/kit, cat after i had it chiped and mapped etc coz im running 40psi on my boost valve, ive been told thats about right but i still not to sure i could be loosing power!
its a pain coz when im driving it around it does pull better through the gears and accelerate quicker ONCE you get going!

With the vac hose off Stu, with your mods i`d like to see around 45psi on the FSE, with bigger cams 50psi.

are after market ecu's available for our motors?
recieved my engine mounts yesterday, got to raise some funds to get them fitted now,
what are jwt cams never heard of them,
:)

You use a piggy back ecu dont you?...thats what i ment.
