hey! ecu querie

speedo wasn't out either coz I got caught speeding a few days b4 at 50mph and I looked at my speedo as the gun hit me n when I looked at the gun it said 50

Hi mate, welcome to the aoc..

afaik, the speedo gets more inaccurate the faster you go, so maybe at 50 its still accurate, but as you increase in speed, the accuracy will fall.. so maybe, if you're doing 115, you're really only doing 110!?

The faster you go the more inaccurate the speedo gets. The true top-speed of a standard GTi is around 130mph, so there is know way a standard 1.4 can do that, sorry.

I can work out my exact top speed using my gear ratios, rev limit and tyre/wheel size. Hitting the rev limiter in 5th its a true 138mph. this is with a short ratio gearbox.

My 1.6 SRi will read 130mphish on the clock, but there's NO WAY thats real speed. Absolutely no chance.
Its probably closer to 110-115mph real speed.
130mph is very very fast.

You hit your limiter in 5th  Take it thats because of the N1 box?
I get 90mph in 3rd at the redline, 120mph in 4th, havnt gone through 5th yet,

But there is no way your doing 130 in a 1.4, not a chance, sorry.

115mph is pretty much the real top speed for a 1.6, more like 112mph so no chance in a 1.4.

it depends on the wind drank and if its slight downhill i would say it could theoretically be possible.

i cant see there being much difference in the ECU either, i would think the injector size will be the same,
