I put the almera through Endsleigh's online quote majiggit and it came up £1000. AWESOME I thought! then it said 'get a detailed quote and buy' and it leapt to £1600 :'( so I'll have to talk to them on the phone, helpfully they invaded my privacy by phoning without actually asking me first and the dude gave me his number so I'll have a chat tomorrow with him ;)

Also going to phone Quinn Direct to see what documents they need for their Named Driving Experience thingie cos I qualify for that and it lowers my premium by about 600 quid :o
 
HAGGLING DOES WORK :) i knocked over a hundred pound off my insurance by ringing up and just asking for them to do it lower lol.

yeah do ring them my quote was online at first n it was 900 or sumet then i rang them up, they quoted me 800, then i rang back couple of days later to buy and it was another hundred quid cheaper, then i added mods ect and it went back up :roll: but def worth calling
 
cheapest quote i had was 1400 rang adrian flux and sed can you beat it and they said 1150 but with 550 excess i was like erm ok thanks, went with quinn again, was 1400 TPFT now its 1400 Fully Comp, which i think is an ok deal to be honest.
 
My RAC quote for next year (Starting August, I passed last October) 3rd Party Fire and Theft is £1340 inc. brakedown cover. But I can build up NCB on it, so it goes down.....eventually. Under my Dad's name this year with National Farmers Union I paid £500.
And that's on a 1996 SRi 1.6.

yeh it is, im the main and only driver on my policy
the £135 is compulsary and its 12 not 10 months. If i didnt know of quinn i wouldnt have a car full stop. Admiral elephant norwich union on my 1.4 ambition being 17 were all quoting me stupid things like 4k tpft! i just told them to take some blood and an eye ball as well n put the phone down
quinn dont class alloys as a mod either ;) dont know why they just dont
 
sorry for adding my insurance and turning it into insurance thread but surprised your paying that much, end of july i'll be paying £681, alloys declared under own name and driving for 1 year but 0 NCB and that's with elephant
 
yeah I don't really get it myself but that's life :/

My only option is to try and haggle them down as much as possible on the phone.

Should be getting the Almera on monday now ... the guy I'm buying it from has it booked for MOT on monday so I'll know for sure then ;)
 
try premium choice on 01213113100. Im 19 1 year ncb insured on me own tpft on a ph1 sri with induction kit and stainless declared for 980 and a excess of 300 :D
 
brrrrrr even haggling doesn't work for me,

and what's more I have to wait until friday to be insured because that's when my named driver policy reaches 1 year so I can use it for the named driver experience discount! :'(

Getting the car today though ;) yay
