If they don't call I'm going to knock out to them after work with my angry hat on and scare off all thier customers. They were selling a car every twenty minutes the last Saturday I was up there... if I'm not satisfied I might have a new hobby on the weekends.

Won't have a bad word said about the garage though, despite your man failing to call me back. I'll allow one forgotten phone call.

haha, some times the garages take forever doing things.. i've dealt with one main Nissan garage and was left waiting nearly 2 weeks for my car when he told me it would be ready in two days.. they just got it in as a trade in, and all it needed was a valet and a service, every day, i rang him going 'WHERES MY CAR?!!!?! WHERES MY CAR??!?!?!' took him two weeks to get this done like, give it some time, i'm not saying your car will take two weeks but by the looks of it, if they ring you today, or if you ring them, they'll say 'call back on monday' .. its just an easy way out for them you know.. blame it on the weekend!

I think I'm sorted following some apoligys and renegotiations.

The interior trim, particually with reference to the seats is much nicer in the 06 model. =D

It'll take until Monday for the part to come in, presumaly its a plug and play job. Until then I have a 2006 model Almera SEX or something hehe.

The other car will be sorted and I'm going to take it to friend of family competant, very good, trustworthy mechanic and if he doesn't like the smell of the oil or anything I've got a refund straightaway. And extended warranty and that tank of fuel they should have given me.

A little pissed off still but happy to go with that. There did seem to be a geniune miscommunication between the dealership that sold it to me and the people doing the repairs.

If everything works out as promised i'd almost recommend them... =]

Well, now that I own an Almera I'll have to join your club... hehe

Now... would ze stock 'mera be fun on a track day or do I need to upgrade brakes and suspension straightaway. =] Actually damn... no full car license, I fergot... no trackdays... okay, gives me a few months to clean her up.
 
Yup you betcha. As mentioned earlier. Never really bothered with cars. Just some named driver stuff as nessesary for a few months here or a few months there.
 
Will do... really enjoying the one I've got. Man hatch backs are unbelibeably good in traffic and parking and all that biz. I never had trouble in the saloons or jeeps but this is just childs play. =D

The speakers are terrible though... all sorts of bad sounds when you turn the volume up.
 
Collected my car today and drove it five minutes into work. Everything feels really loose compared to the 06 model. It's got better rubber on it though, the tires don't squeal on one of the sharp corners on site. =]
 
Okay. The tires don't squeal in corners but they definitally do on the brake. I was pissing along an unused road at the back of the airport getting up through the gears and revs to check all was well and when that all worked perfectly I decided to test the ABS.

I don't think it has ABS. Ooooops. A squeal of tires and a cloud of smoke to rival the A320's landing beside me. But it got me from 100 to 20mph damn quick so I'm happy with this I'm just going to have to practice ____ braking. Or maybe I just applied too much to soon.

Actually, I'm not going to be involved in muppetry of that nature so alls good. Still need to improve my braking for the same reasons as everyone else, you can never be too good at stopping.

i'm actually quite surprised that the 2001 model didnt come with abs!! hows the rest of the car going anyway dangermouse? you enjoying it so far???
