Holes GTi

ok so project blog for my car.

so i bought a Uk 1998 N15 phase 1 GTi non bodykit in black, 92k on the clock, fresh service, 6 months MOT for the sum of £640. Paint work isnt great, few little scratches and apparently it had a few marks and they were touched in but it looks like someone has gone over the car droping black nail varnish where ever there was a stone chip, but that can be sorted...

some pics of her from the day i went to view her...

ok so i saved the induction kit and some silicone hose from my last car so they made their way onto this one. The washer hose was loosing a little, so it was an excuse to change them :) but now the rest of the hose pipe has been changed too

progress is slow as im not working but doing what i can, i think changing the rear wiper position and changing to a punto arm will be next. I do have some led reverse bulbs to fit when i can get the bulbs out with my fat little fingers (seems impossible to be honest and im starting to give up hope)

rewrapped my custom made sub box and fitted that in JUST, sits against my strut brace and leaves about 2"s in front of the box for movement.

okay so my clutch started slipping about two weeks ago, so i got on top of that and even though the driveshaft was a nightmare to get undone, its been done, well everything is back in its place, just few bolts to nip up and connectors to reattatch tomorrow

old vs new friction plate (worn down to the studs)

Looking good so far bud. Keep up the rust killing too, we all love a bit of that!

rear arch needs sorting :( and front wing, but thats easy, just get a replacement front wing when i have spare £££ unless i get some bolt on jun style arches and some super fat wheels :)

thanks for your comments

getting stuck in - love it. car coming along sweeeeeeet

im lucky really as im not too mechanically minded but i have a die hard Nissan (especially R33's) fan/owner for a friend who is mechanically minded (which i havent come accross anything he cant do yet), im just his tool monkey haha

woohoo, my mate makes INSANE badges to replace the nissan ones and mine will be here monday/tuesday :) made to the same size and spec as the standard badges but mine are being painted black with red writing to blend in with my colour scheme.

pics up as soon as they arrive

thinking of pulling the system out of the car to replace it with a single sub, most probably another 12" to save some weight and give me some boot space back.

few jobs done today...

front arches wire wheeled back and repainted as surface rust was starting to appear (and some added to suspension shocks), rears to be done over next few days
not the best pic but you get the idea

upper part of intake pipe changed, started polishing the rocker cover (although i think i may just try find a primera one), bonnet stay painted black as it had surface rust, expansion tank piping changed for red silicone hose

white led sidelights fitted and hid's also fitted today

its actually a vynil wrap, stuff you buy to cover school books etc haha, did my old bmx's in the same stuff, one in the same design as this sub box and one which was all smarties :)
none of my current bikes are in a vynil wrap though, my trials bike is sprayed purple/plum and my bmx is sprayed black lol

shopping goes on the back seats, 138DB though :)

as i have said above, this weighs a ton and im thinking of removing it for a small system, maybe two 10" subs in a ISO box, so lighter and saves on room

so m y car went from running fine to blowing like a $20 hooker! it was blowing from the flexi section, so decided sod it...

package came yesterday
