Was cleaning the car today and took the boot carpet out to clean all the crap in the spare wheel recess, Just shat maself when I saw this

Can't believe it. Going to see someone tonight who can hopefully fix it or cut it out and weld a plate in.

Just ruined my day :mad:
 
Ive seen that in more than one, hasnt been properly undersealed by the looks of it,
 
when i stripped mine, there was a little rust but nothing that serious... i did notice in the boot well that there was a hole which was covered by what seemed like tape :S wasnt impressed by that
 
Sanded it all down, drivers side isnt too bad, put the psg side was sanded down and its a bit brittle, will wait and see what this guy says tonight
 
they come from factory like that dude dont worry.. i havent seen a single one yet that aint got the scab around those places..
 
mine has the same and sometimes is full of water but i drain it out. i have applied lots of wax oil around it so it wont!
 
Yeah don't quite feel as bad, took it to a local guy and he said it wasn't that big a deal to fix, but obviously the earlier you catch it the better.

He said it was really common on the n15's, which ties up with what you guys are saying

jock did he say whether its mot fail or not? keep us posted on progress, because if mine starts to go again, ill need it done..... cheers....
 
feel like im saying this constantly but happens to all Nissans, eventually it will fail the MOT and if it fails structurally the car will be a write off! almost happened to my Nx but i spent 700 quid fixing it
 
there was a program on discovery channel about 4am this morning about the newport car crusher, apparently gets through 100 cars an hour
 
He said its prob a failure cause its close to the rear seatbelt mount and the rear suspension, but told me its not that bad and he can fix it no probs.

I guess I caught it before it turned into a fucked shell. Scary really, the rest of my car is in pretty good condition. I was thinking wtf am I going to do with this :rolleyes:
 
Time to check mine tomorrow methinks, it's starting to show rust on the bonnet and under the rear drivers side window seal...
 
just checked it...clean as a whistle! :D not a spot of rust on it...sure I read on the previous receipts that it had been rustproofed though....
