I bought the car with the dreaded, no reverse gear. Sent the box off and had it rebuilt after about 2 months I finally got the box back with a nice new 5th gear set and new bearings throughout. I picked the car up on a Thursday and I was away camping on the Saturday. I drove 370 miles, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was nice getting to know the car and all it's little quirks.
One of the little quirks was the revs held themselves quite high when the clutch was disengaged. I had a look at the throttle body and a lot of spray on grease is present. I'm going to order the new gaskets, and get the throttle body off and clean the EGR valve out too. If this doesn't solve it, then I'll chance my arm at Honda and order a throttle cable,, and enter the lucky dip to see if I get a good one.
The weekend gave me the oppertunity to give it it's first wash. Always good as it gives me the oppertunity to have a good look at the paintwork and see any issues that were there. Nothing major to report either.
I started taking out some of the old audio cables too.
I snow foamed the car with AB Magifoam with a touch of APC thown in too. Washed the wheels with AS Smart Wheels. Two bucket method with DJ Born to be Mild. Dried with Optimum Quick Detailer. Dressed the tyres with CG New Look Trim Gel.
