An update, not entirely washing based either. Tied up some loose ends, broke some grinders and hit up on some next level ChilliJacks fast food manouvers. Huge thanks to Spyke and Jerky Dean and Dave.
Starter packed up friday, fitted a uk gti jobbie. As ross pointed out one connector is different, but if you're a true bodge artist you can actually plug the female spade into the oe plug :whistling:
While the bonnet was up i wiped some dust out the engine bay, we painted the oil separater and spyke got happy with the starburst silver. I'm blaming him for that, it only started with the heat shield :whistling:
Tightened some belts only to realise that the annoying early morning squeak was still there, looks like alternator will be dead next.
Spyke was annoyed with my stereo setup so decided to make all 4 speakers work and fit the HU in the dash properly. Did something to my headlight connectors as well so they all work properly.
Dean also decided he wanted to get some of the swirls and brillo pad marks out of my paint, he borrowed his mates mop/grinder and unfortunately it blew it up. Moved onto spykes £6 asda grinder and that started smoking quite a lot too  He reckons the paint should come up well so he wants to try it out within the next few weeks.
I also used deans special sauce to cut my wheels back to silver paint, most brake dust and the browny yellow wheel cleaner stains are gone. Still a little corrosion and dust baked in but looks 100% better.
Needs a wash but its getting there slowly.
Thats a shiney bonnet
