Hi Gemma, through personal experience i'd be looking for a 1.4 Si, little more sportier looking, you'll get your electric windows/sunroof and comfortable seats.

welcome to the club!

Id say the Si too, ive had 2, my current one is a p reg and cost me £450 a year ago. And its never put a foot wrong.

An SRi is a 1.6 mate. It's Si you're thinking of perhaps?

Haha yeh i realise that i just thought she might be open to a SRi too, abit more gutzy & other nice bits and when i did quotes on insurrence phils 1.4 GX and my 1.6 sri were £20 difference in price

Insurring first car is allways gona be a ball ache, its gona hit hard big time but getting the best first car is very important. Id wish i bought a peugeot 206 XSI 1.6 16v over a pov spec 206 1.4 LX which was £1600 vs £1450 insurrence. It would of meant id saved £750 on alloys/bumper upgrades/performence upgrades etc etc..

Food for thought no ;) xx

:welcome:

I'd recommend a Si... you get the Gti style bumper kit but with Fog blanks instead of lights... looks the business really and with a set of GTi alloys on like my old one it'll hadle like it too!!

As a few have said already it's the best looking of the 1.4s as well as being the best equiped!!

Happy shopping!!

Best of luck finding her a 1.4 SRi... seeing as they only came in 1.6 as far as I recall...

How do and welcome. I'll second Eddie and say go for the SRI. Not a 1.4 but its a 1.6. more power to. much better IMO.

welcome along gem,

yeah id say go for a 1.6 sri, as it goes, there are a few mods you can do, and comes with good kit on it, you pay a bit more tax tho, £190 per year where as the si is only £120 due to it being a 1.4

Hi Gemma, welcome to AOC. :)

If there`s rust showing on the rear arches/sills, take all the carpets out of the boot & check the panels in there, as this is the achilese(sp) heel of the N15, if the inside is clear, it should be fairly straight forward to sort the exterior rust. ;)

Hope you find a good one. :)

Insurance wise depends on you etc, if your after a 1.4 id go for a 1.4 be cheaper on tax + petrol and probably insurance slightly as its a bit less power, but obviously if that isn't a problem then everyone recommends the 1.6

I forgot one important thing here, shes well female which indcates much less insurrence i mean you could insurre a GTI for the price it cost me to insure a 1.1 litre micra cause off the fact apparently females crash less well they do as were let down by scumbag boyracers in little french tins.

How old are you/whats your NCB if u have any? first car im assuming?

x
