Ill get the ball rolling. Hopefully this will help as a form of reference and warning to others before buying from a main dealer. Others may be pleasently suprised. Sorry for lack of part numbers, ive lost my Fast CD.

1996 Sri:
Coolant resevoir (Bracket was snapped when i bought the car): 83 pounds!
2x Rubber PAS pipes behing O/S Headlight: 24 pounds EACH
Rear Wash/Wipe relay (Under bonnet tailored fit item) 14 pounds

There the main ones so far. All of which have been obtained from a scrappy for the grand sum of 10 quid.
 
I know this is useless to all of you im just including it coz i think it's ridiculous!

Rang up nissan last week for a price for two front door cards for a 1993 nissan nx (seen as the cars havent been made for over ten years the doorcards that exist are gash) anyway, the price new from nissan: Two hundred and sixty nine pounds, EACH :eek:


Now i understand parts like that are held in a depot in Japan but for a part that must cost no more than £2 to produce, maybe £10 at the most to post, its a crap price! the car was only £900, and they expect me to pay £538 for two bits of plastic? sigh.
 
I took the GTi to the dealers to get the brakes looked @ last Saturday morning, & they said it needed the following:

Passenger side front caliper: £339.15! :eek:

Front discs & pads: £339.61! :eek:

I got a set of front & rear discs & pads from Brakes International delivered the previous Friday for: £139.50 (before 10% discount)! :D

I spent the rest of the weekend unsiezing the caliper & fitting the discs/pads myself, & saved about £540!!! :cool:
 
p2 headlamp unit £98 plus vat!
H4 headlamp plug and wires £15

had a huge list from when i smashed up the almera but cant find it at the moment
 
I ve got a slightly better one, a local garage quoted £200 to fix the interior heater blower which had somehow lost one of its fan blades (and made quite an impressive if very inefficient helicopter noise as a result).

Took it to Nissan fearing the worst and it cost a grand total of £70 to fix.

Granted probably would have been cheaper from a scrappie but Im not too good with these things :lol:
 
side light buldb holder from the front head lights for the 4 tail light conversion im sure the guy said £23 pound plus the vat "each" away and shite for a daft wee plastic holder also rear wiper arm was around £50 pound at least the heater resistor card aint throught the roof from them

touch up pen was £4.50/£5, was amazed at the price, thought it would be well over the £10 halfrauds charge! that was in alaska blue and the dark green almera tino colour but i think its the same price for every colour, is a good colour match aswell

Rocker cover gasket £9.92 + Vat, not bad considering my local parts place were after £20.
 
N16p1 Swirl control valve solenoid: £77.21 parts, £75.00 labour.
Swirl control system one-way-valve: £16.99 (fitting it myself)
N16p1 OSF Indicator lens assembly: £22.34 parts (£3 cheaper than europarts), £10.00 labour (I asked them not to fit it as it's a 2 minute DIY job but they did anyway).

All ex-vat.
