Hes called Kelvin lol!

Sri is 99Bhp ish, ive never seen them go head to head like but i would imagine they are quicker than the 1.4!

How come ur puttin spacers on? I duno bout the 2 month mate im not an insurance expert lol :confused:

yeh, no doubt the SRI would leave my little 1.4 standing.... Do they have same gearboxes or are they shorter ratio's ? :confused:

for what its worth, i may as well keep the 1.4... 85 bhp is enough for me :lol:

If i remember correctly the gearboxes are identical if not almost identical! I dont know weather they are intechangable though.

Basically the sri just has your engine, but with .2 of a liter bigger displacement, thats why yours is called the GA14DE and the 1.6 is the GA16DE!

You cant fall off with an almera mate, just dont try and soup the engine up, cos it really isnt worth it! Stick to simple things like induction kit and an exhaust, and focus on the styling side!

I'm gonna get a k&n 57i induction next month, unless there are better about? :confused:

I had a pipercross induction on my ibiza.... it sounded great above 3k.... :lol:

any ideas about the backbox? any ideas on where i can get a nice sounding twin exit or single ? :rolleyes:

lol im doin uni resit work, too much time getting pissed and not goin to uni!

Deffo get a meet goin, ther is loads of almeras about the town :cool:

Dont get the K&N get another pipercross, or if u can afford, the BMC CDA!

Backbox, AAS In newcastle, they did a really good job on my mates exhaust (kelvin), failing that go to motorworld, get a backbox and get powerflow to put it on!

what is the BMC CDA ?

would that fit on the 1.4 and how much is it ?

i've seen a PH1 Gti drivin round town, green
 
that gti has no kit yeah?

Its an induction kit mate, you can get em just universal and some hosing/pipe and make your own kit. They are rather expensive about £150 maybe!

sounds like i'll get a pipercross for now, and then upgrade to a BMC when i have the money :P

Erm, as for the GTI, its standard kit, lowered ( i think) and has massive alloys... look like OZ titans.....

the only green gti ive seen in the town has a private plate i think, deffo N reg, no kit, those toora alloys that look like oz titans slightly and it does look lowered a bit. thats a phase 1, never seen a green one with a kit.

toora platinums.... my mate has a 1.2 SXI corsa with those on lol

quite a few mates of mine have modded motors... only 2 are nissans though, 1 is a 5 door almera :lol: and the other is a 1.0 16v micra lol

both want to modify....

i know this is gonna sound silly (and probably dumb at the same time)
but are the heads on the 1.4's and SRI's the same ? :roll: i been wondering all day, lol been racking my brains why it could be the same..... headache
 
from the outside the engines look exactly the same yes, its just the engine displacement thats different, someone with more tech knowledge will be able to answer in full, but i think its just the capacity of the cylinders thats different.

how come you want to know that?

just because im thinking of getting the head ported and polished, as well as sprayed on the outside ( u gave me an idea)

but i cant do that until i either, take the car off the road and take my head off.... or find a 1.4 or 1.6 top end and get this ported and stuff.. so all i would need to do is pretty much swap them :D

would cost a fair bit like.... but thats over a period of time :roll:
 
dont bother mate its a waste of money. spend that on an induction kit and exhaust.

paint the rockercover by all means lol, makes the engine look tider and bling :cool:
 
i'll do that then :cool: need some colour in my engine bay, was thinking about a rlly bright Red, metallic flaked obviously lol

my mate with the micra sprayed his head ( of the engine :P) with an aerosol.. lol

and detailed it with blue paint.... as far as i know that was sprayed too...

Did you get yours blasted and dipped ?

but yeh, induction and exhaust are well on their way when pay day comes around :P

what Sells the BMC CDA ? Motorworld in boro ? :)
 
You can get it off the net, just type BMC CDA into google or look on ebay!

They are all universal, but you will have to go somehwere like tripple six in middlesbrough and get a 90 degree bend and some pipe to make it fit.

Mine was taken off, sanded, de-greased, sandblasted, sanded some more and degreased again lol, then all washed down and painted (i think, or it went summit like that). You have to be so careful not to get any oil or dirt under the paint as it starts to bubble and flake off!! It was painted with a paint gun, like you would a car, with paint from advanced near atkinsons!
 
Just google'd BMC CDA and it looks pretty good to me...

could i buy it and take it up to triple Six in boro and ask them to fit it ?

if they supplied the hosing/pipin etc ?:confused:

Now all i need is the money to buy one :lol:
 
Heres my induction kit, its on a 1.6 GA16DE engine, but obviously, it looks identical to your 1.4 GA14DE.

Its just a Ford Focus induction kit with the crap filter (as shown below) swapped for a BMC (Will get new picture soon)

With the BMC on, it pulls alot smoother and its very noticably better than the big filter you can see in the picture.

is there anywhere that actually sells the 90 degree piping n stuff for the induction ? or did that come with the focus kit.. ? :confused:
