My 1996 1.4 GX

Been up to the Brecon's today, got a few snaps if you're interested. I'm a crap photographer and the phone might not be the best for photos, but you get the jist.

I can't decide what to do next! If I find work then I might be able to do some REAL mods to the car, any suggestions? Cheap mods are always good too ;)
 
It looks really good mate :)
I'd personally black out or remove the rear chrome Nissan badge, as everything else on the back is red/black.
Also possibly Phase 2 styleeee the headlights, would look mint with the black/red theme..

Cheers lads, Joe you got any 5 door bump strips? Tried taking one side up but I've given up on the glue now, so I wanna put them back on and colour code them. Manifold is gonna be soooon
 
Like it Phil, looks like a great road there :) Colour coded bump strips will look good imo. Getting that rear one done with the side ones yeah?
 
Don't miss your 1.4, it felt so gutless today. God damn I had to change down to get up a hill at 70mph! I'm really not going to spend much more on this car, unless I SR20 it, we'll see.

Ed, yeah I'll be doing something with the rear black strip, I've got an almost complete Ph1 bodykit, the back bumper is in better condition than my current one, I'm tempted to put that and the skirts on, I haven't decided yet though.
 
Yeah keep it with plans to SR20 it :) Start gathering parts for the conversion. Good way to do it was you spend money over time rather than right out buying a GTi.
 
I've been offered an SR20 for cheapness, just needs a rebuild, I think as you say an ongoing project is the best way! I'll get everything together then do the swap in one go.
 
I could, but you've got to love the 5 door. Plus I've got a really clean shell once I've sorted my sills, it'd be a shame to get rid of it tbh.
 
I decided that I was a tool for thinking taking a few bits of trim out would make any difference, so it's almost all back in.

I've got most of a Ph1 bodykit to go on, and I was planning on painting my wheels black anyway, what do people think of something like this?

but btw - thats a 3 door ;) yours will look different to that anyway.

as for the strippage, don't just do a few bits of trim, do the lot! :P turn it into a slag, now. stupid sunroof is one place to start, spare wheel, then all seats, trim etc :D

That's what I'm thinking, it'll either look good or shite, black paint is cheaper though lol

It's a 1.4, it's slow no matter what. So I'll just keep it comfy until it isn't slow.
 
If it was a 3 door, it'd be completely stripped all the time. But something about the 5 door, I don't like it stripped lol. Stop bullying me! :( :lol:
 
your car is looking very tidy now!! Not sure about the black body kit to be honest on that image :S

theres always GTi engines going on ebay for cheapness!

Hopefully i get to see it in the flesh today!

My gti looks a state compared to yours at the moment.

did you tint your back lights your self or buy a different set? they look quite smart.
