my almera GTi

lol there only £20 for a set of 2 of demon tweeks :P just need the studs aswell unless you like running on 4 turns of the nuts :S i duno how much better it will be looks wise have to see..

just got a call from nissan my car has been fixed and is ready to pickup :D so happy and my wheelspacers arrived yesturday just hope my studs turned up today and i can put them on....

well i got her back last night and took her for a spin glad im back in controll but theres still a list of stuff to do before iv got a stable base to start modyfiying from...

The APEXI needs re-wiring and soldering with heat shrink wrapping...
the new ecu needs its self learn resseting and the apexi mapping..
The exhuast neds taking off re-sealing with new gasgets and re fitting,
The interior needs ripping out as it smells abit due to the water and damp
The suspention needs changing as the coilover things i baught from a freind left me with about an inch of travel i carnt rag the car without it bottoming out the suspention and its destroyed the 2 front shocks..
The thrust bearing on the clutch is making a right racket so thats on its way out it clutch was going when i baught it so i need a new clutch and bearing..

Few only a few little bits but bits thata re annoying

well more Fucking good luck!! it has no end for me.. the car is now completly imobilosed and flashing a completly new fault code i have never seen.. i fixed the apexi last night drove round for a couple of hours not a problem! this morning car wont start and the ecu light comes on again so i check it with the lap top and a whole new fault umber comes up!!!! so im fucked off and the car has had it... its coming off the road and its not gona know whats hit it.. it wont be back on the road for a year or so so im gona get a runaround.... but so unbelievably fucked off im fuming.....

Ian...

Bear in mind that you could break the car for spares as it is, and with the money you make, buy another one, rather than throwing money at this one.

lol it my luck lol admitadly iv crashed a couple :P but this ones down to water.. Damn you H2O.. dont worry it will be back..

well being as the wiring is completly shot the almera has been taken of the road for what im calling stage 1 which is as follows :-

Standalone ECU to replace the shite nissan stuff
cutt down the wiring drastically
manual mirrors small carbon ones
manual windows
REmoval of the ABS system
A new clutch whilst the engine is out
Paint the interior white and remove the small rust ingress
Replace the engine sensors
make a new aluminium dash..

other small bits like removing the sound deadning and making new seat rails up will also be done at this stage.. thats so i can get the car back on the road and ill start stage 2 which is a new engine...

holy crap, dont envy you puttin that back together... really isnt a lot to the car when you gut it is there..

Christ on a bike.!

I remember doing all that to a mates AE92.....we soon regretted that. lol

But 2 lads kicking fcuk out of the dash to make it budge, is a long way from where your going with this.

well end of the day if i have to ill re-wire the entire car lol but i want to loose as much weight as i can before i start.. iv made detailed descriptions of where everything goes and what its coneected to iv also labelled every conector with its position..

nope sorry dude aint got no lift.. will be this month or next hopefully :S looking at getting a DTA stand alone ecu i had one on the micra but they have improved now and read the nissan CAS system :D

okay done a tiny bit more work today got some of the engine stripped ready for taking out and removed the last of the interior wiring loom..

but im deciding whats the ebst corse of action for the new engine managment!!

this thing :-

IMG00043.jpg

might look like an ordinary distributer but it contains all the gubbins for sensing at what angle the crank and cams are at.. essential for setting up an ECU it uses a slotted disc with 360 slots in it and an optical sensor and some other black magic items.. but there are only a few stand alone engine managment systems that can read this signal. if i carnt find one that reads mine i will have to make a new pully for the car with a slotted disk and a new sensor..

but the plans for stage 1 are

Removel of engine and fitting of a new clutch
Removal of ABS and asosiated wiring harness and controll unit..
the removel of some small rust spots and the painting of the interior.
Make a new aluminium dash
remove the whole cars wiring loom
take the car to a specialist wiring place and have a full new cut down loom made to run the basics of the car
fit a new standa lone ECU and have it mapped

then ill have my car back minus a shed load of weight and the ability to fit and map a new engine which will be built over the course of next year..
