N15 gti clunk

Well im jacking car up in the morning and swapping tyres over and by god i need to get this front suspension sorted spent too much money to quit now lol will update tomorrow and if i find anything suspect i will post pics

I'd say its a ball joint imo, i had one fucked and from time to time it would drag itself across the road, depending on where it moved the wheel too, it gave it a really nasty thud every time it moved, at one point it'd be fine and straight then it would slip with the smallest amount of wheel turn and it'd try to ditch itself get them checked ASAP if they snap and end like my mates here:

cheers guys got a few things to go on and will replace ball joints as soon as the money fairy comes at the end of the month and not a matching pair at the mo but will be in morn lol

I know how you feel mate; Im starting to loose love for my car as well as Im having much the same sort of problems; can feel a clunking through the wheel.
I'm going to change my inner track rod ends (the long lengths that bolt to the rack) as one of mine has play; best way to feel for it is put your arm on the track rod with the car on the ground. Get a mate to jiggle the steering wheel and see if you can feel a clunk through it; might be worth a short; could cause the car to potentially wander I guess
 
Will have a look at them tomorrow pal . Where did u get your new inners from?? Will up date as havin a good butchers tomorrow underneath
 
just got firstline ones from the motor factors; £42 each including vat; nissan wanted 90 a piece and a long wait to arrive from japan so will see how these get on!
 
Try nipping up the anti roll bar, I changed the links once and found it worked its way a little loose. Didn't feel loose when shook by hand but still needed tightening. Use a pry to test it for any slack when you have got it in the air.
