N15 gti lop sided

yes just realised rowdy lol but spoke to mij who i got the suspension off and he has said that they both came off a black gti and when he removed them he didnt notice they was uneven???so ....................o_O

AND we have a winner jusr measured from bottom of strut leg to the spring cup notch and the drivers side is 235mm and the passenger is 200mm?? Could anyone tell me what cars legs i have on pls lol

Lol, guess at a pulsar/sunny shock on one side

But if your having to buy a new one, car would be abit rough with one old shock/one new. So seems like you need to buy two new shocks anyway unless your have spares?

Could be 1 Sri shock and 1 gti shock... Assuming no one has ever actually measured them...

So we have potentially found a way to go lower on oem shocks without paying £750 on coilovers hmm

40mm lowering springs + pulsar shocks (235-200) 35mm = 75mm drop

Found this out about 7yrs ago.
Phase 1 shocks with phase 2 oe spring gives a nice drop. Cut one coil off the rear to even it out. Dodgy, not recommended, but works.

Any more than 40mm drop will ride the bump stops.

I at least deserve a thanks for sussing this out ( before Ross :D ) , and MIJ needs to give a refund for selling faulty goods.

Wait so Ian your saying phase one N15 is the same 35mm lower as N14 pulsar/sunny shocks... so it might not be a pulsar/sunny shock more likely MIJ sold a phase one and a phase two shock as a matched pair without noticing.

Know that phase one/phase two front springs are different but rears stay same length. But phase 1/2 shocks differ in length also??

well for the shock to be shorter, the spring has to be longer. so if the springs were different, inherently the shocks have to be different to maintain the same height spec between phases?
