New grille (FAO Sprint, Harryd & everyone)

PLEASE IGNORE HOW DIRTY SHE IS!!!!! New grille promply sent by Shiney_Blue.

7.30am Grill is signed for.
7.31am Back to bed. (im keen, but not that fucking keen)
9.30am Begin rubbing down.
10.30pm 3 coats of plastic primer and heated.
2.00pm Painted with 3 coats and heated again.
5.30pm Attach, stand back, admire.

Also, thanks to Sri-Alan and anyone else who's posts have inspired me to bung my indicators in the oven, pry them open and spray the outer section black. Looks good in my opinion.

looks very very stealthy indeed. very nice job you have done there. are you goin to try the headlights, like the indecators as well. i'm trying but can't get them off!!!!:lol:

Hell no, need to try on some spares 1st. got a slight chip on my passenger side indicator when i got a bit heavy handed. 110 degrees for 5-6 mis is all you need in the oven. wear gloves and eat your spinach as mine were tough as fook to pull apart.
 
i've done the indicators although i left them in a bit long and the plastic warpped slightly and sticks out on the top corner so it will need to go in and get melted then clamped i supose!!! ut it looks great that grill looks a lot better in the black than in the silver in the other thread.

argh!!!! the grill looks great and your indicators look ace blacked out. i considered it but as its silver i think i looks cool just deglobed.
very nice look, just gotta save up for my 2 slat now
 
Harry look in your avatar with the GTI(look-a-like) indicators the contrast will be great with your bump strips and handles. would look mint!!imo

i need to update my avatar, ive now got clear repeaters aswell now. I think your right actually. how did u spray just the sides? im sure it would be obvious when i opened them all up. u should av made a how to :P
 
i like that alot damo, dont think it would suit many colours but in black it looks very nice.

very mean looking front end with the splitter, black edged indicators, eye brows and grill, looks great

Never been a fan of the grille at all on the cars I've seen it on! But it works a treat on your car! The front end is looking pretty tidy!
 
Actually it doesnt look half bad! Never liked the look of it before, but with the eyebrows it actually suits!
I used hot water to open my indicators, but remember to a)Let the paint dry and b) reheat the plastic before re-fitting!
 
my mum has refused to let me put them in her oven, unless i can afford to pay £1000 for a new one. guess ill have to wait till i go bak to uni.:(
 
you can put them in really hot water and that will work too

grill looks much better in black than it did on the silver car
