nissan almera turbo diesel 2.2 hard start

One thing you may have overlooked is the mass air flow sensor. A dirty maf can cause idling problems. Usually causes problems when a wet filter is used. Worth a try cleaning it with some proper maf cleaner or try some quality electrical contact spray if you can't get hold of any.

where can i find mass air flow sensor..i took the car to the garage today, guy was pretty knowledable, he asked me to try to start the engine when the car is cold, if it cuts off then open the bonet and keep on pushing black lid on the fuel filter/pump untill the lid gets harder. i will try it 2mro and let you guys know..if any1 else having a similar problem please let me know i might be able to guide them...

You say that the engine runs when it is warm. Can you confirm that it runs as normal i.e. idles correctly, revs cleanly up to 4000 rpm ( please don't go past this, there's no need!! ) and pulls smoothly in all gears on a road test???. Also when you switch off, does the engine cut straight away or does it over run???

yes the engine runs fine when it is warm...i willl leave my mobile number and any assistance over the phone will be highly appreciated guys...this start up problem is doing my head in..i have taken the car to the guarge they made me change the glow plugs..but the problem still exists.....once again thanks guys for your replies ...07702570742
