shame to see the green goddess off the road, but as everyone said, main thing is you're ok, get well soon mate!

Shit mate......glad to hear that your OK though. What the fuck was that lorry doing??

Get well soon though mate. :)

NEil.

Just seen this thread and i'm really sad for ya mate. Was a shit thing to happed to such a good project and nice bloke. Anyway I'm ecoing everyone else but hope you get over it as quick as possible and on to the next whatever it is! :)

Did you meet that copper?

Do you know what actually happened yet mate??

Oooh it's all go ...

Just (literally just) got off the phone to him - he's going to meet me at work tomorrow

Got sick of waiting so filled out my claim form with as much as I could and posted it off.

Gonna be a while yet I would imagine, but I'd be interested to see what they give me as a buy-back offer - just trying to find out if there's anything worth salvaging

Glad you're ok mate and I don't know if this is appropiate timing (so forgive me for being so blunt) but have you a list of anything salvageable from your car? :o

No worries at all

Can't get anyone at the yard to go look for me (and not sure I'd trust them if they did) so I'm going to try and get down to see it in person

Once I know what's there it'll be far easier and quicker to say to the insurance right, get it back up here or just leave it where it is and pay me !

From the piccies it's looking like just the engine (2.0 GTi with or without ssautochrome header) and possibly

1 or 2 wheels
brakes and calipers (300mm & 4 pot)
bumpers front and rear with a bit of tidying
maybe the tailgate's repairable if it's only slightly damaged
Recaros (or at least the re-trimmed rear seats)

Should make it down next weekend

The Problem with dark green is that it is camoflaged against so many backdrops, insurance companies know dark geen has the highest accident rate. I had a dark green Rover 420 that was written off by someone pulling out in front of me at a T junction so I know how you feel. But I am glad you are OK, thats the main thing. Did the police find out who hit you??

Mike
