[ know what he's on about there's an earthing plate near the inlet manifold that the earth wires for the core's attach to, you can't see it in the pic.

bazz666, thanks also for posting photo - I have just seen it. I think you have hit the nail on the head about what i'm talking about, (I'm glad somebody did!) but do you think that would cause the problem of cutting out when going round corners and bends occasionally or not? I have no technical know-how and don't know the correct terminology!

By the way, what time does the bus rally start - we will try and get there but it all depends.

Ive just looked @ the blurb, & all it has is the date (8th October), but no times, but the car should be parked somewhere around Labworth carpark about 10ish.

If I`m not about, leave a message on the windscreen, with you moby number & I`ll come & find you & give your car a lookover.

Hey guys, just an update on Janets problem (as her computer`s died, so she can`t get online).

I`ve seen the car in person today (impromtu mini meet @ Canvey Island), & it seems to have been what I suspected.

The bolt that holds the Lambda probe wire bracket to the manifold cover was missing, so it was moving about & had melted the cable & cover when it touched the pipe that goes to the manifold above the probe (the crinckled pipe that goes behind the rad top hose on Bazs engine, what does this do  )

I told her I think it could be Exhaust Gas Recirculation, but not certain, as mine doesn`t have it.

Idle & everything else looks & sounds fine, & the problem hasn`t re-occured since the bracket was re-attached, :) I followed her around Canvey for a bit to make sure nothing else untoward happened & it seems to be cured (fingers crossed).

I told her to give us a shout if she has any more probs & we`ll try to help her out.
