Short SHift

i know alot of p10 owners just get rid of them because they have a tendency to rattle, cant remember hearing any negative effects from removing them but Mark will know more.

i wouldnt like the idea of removing the CAT on tbh, cant see the rest doing much but i would personally try to keep them there if possible, must be there for a reason really or they wouldnt bother to fit them.

its to pretect the underneath of your car from flames say if a carrier bag melts onto your exhaust and catches on fire. I had a fidanze quickshift on my old gti and the heatshield went back on fine  And i used a tapping nut (one with a plastic insert) to stop the nut comming loose...

i had to bash out the heatshield with a hammer so there was a delv where the shifter was catching, no more rattle, and heatshield is still intact

Yeah I did that, bashed it I mean so that the QS and HS didn't hit. Problem is that now the HS rattles, or rather vibrates. It's not all the time though, more like when at a certain frequency / revs. Thinking about sticking some dynamat to the car side of the HS to remove the resonance.

May work, may not, we'll see....

tighten the bolt that holds the shaft to the linkage. mine came loose so i thread locked the bugger. obviously the tighter the bolt the harder to shift.

does anyone know if a short shifter from a sr20 p11 will fit the n15 sr20 fine or are they different??
