Something a bit different

This is not going to be to everyones taste, and apologise for the quality of some of this pics as it was getting dark. But heres a few snaps of my summer toy.

***NEW PICS ON PAGE 2!!!!!

Capri 280 Brooklands

2.8 V6 RWD with an LSD
Bilstein suspension as standard
Recaro leather seats
65K on the clock :p

I am still tinkering with it at the mo, but it needs very little. The Bodywork is unmarked and completely rust free, If anything lets it down, its the engine bay, jsut needs tidied up, hence no pics as yet, but watch this space.

Hope you like......

Lol. Just noticed the bottle of redex between the back seat. haha.

Awesome...Looks mint.Anything RWD is awesome.Ha ha.

Would love to be the proud owner of an Escort Mk1 or Mk2 :D

sweenytastic is the reason you got this because the almera gti tv campaigne was loosly based on the sweeny. So ya thought "i know ill buy a capri"
lol.

jokin aside sweet ride mate, I guess it has a pinto under the bonnet yeh?
so ya gonna give it a tubby or two?

great car shame they were replaced witha pathetic excuse of a car name being the ford probe

That's a minter and a half! Always loved Capris, and came very close to buying one as a first car instead of the 'mera!

That could be a good investment, especially in that condition.
When I see a Capri or Manta on the road it always reminds me of being a kid and wanting one....
Good find!

Nice :)
A couple of my first cars were RWD Fords, a Mk2 Capri but only 1.6, then a Mk2 Escort with 1650 X-flow and twin choke Weber. In fact that engine is still in my dad's garage, it must be seized by now! Had a Sierra 2.0i a few years ago too, it was fun being back in a RWD for a while.

No its the 2.8 v6 cologne engine, the pinto was a 2.0. Nah not interested in turbo'ing it as then it wouldnt be standard. As far as I know there are only around 400 brooklans left in varying condition, ths is build number 667 - so glad its not 666. lol.

Did the Brooklands come with a turbo? Or am I thinking Tickford? Either way, looks nice, any Capri is rare now. :)

A small number of the brooklands were turbo'd by TurboTechnics. As far as I know it was an option from new. A turbo technics capri in good cond wouls sell for over 14K easy. You are righta bout the tickford though, it also came with a bodykit and a few other modifications too.

Yeah Im hoping so, I have a valuation certificate for over 8K for it, and thats more than double what I paid for it.The car belonged to friend of my dads, and at that price I couldnt really say no. If I sold it tomorrow i would easily get my mone back and more. but Its not for sale. :D

In terms of mods etc I have no plans other than to keep it as standard as possible. If it was jsut a 2.8 injection, and not a brooklands then maybe I would mod it. But there are so few of these left I think it would be a shame to take it away from standard. The furthest I would go would be a full ss exhaust I think, and maybe some Magnacor Plug leads! Lol. But thats it.
