I was in a garage last weekend and overheard the guy behind the counter telling another customer that it is £70 per rim to refurbish.
I got the impression from their conversation that is the going rate down here in the South - no doubt I'll be corrected if thats too far off the mark :rasp:

If you can find a company that will refurbish and powdercoat it will probably cost you less per rim.

Quick question. when they powdercoat/spray your wheels like you had them done for £40 a wheel, do they sand blast them or something or do they spray over the existing finish?

well my wheels were in pretty good condition (possibly coz you didnt have them on the car wilksy?) but as far as i know they refurb any small scratches etc.

The powder coating process itself as the name suggests is where they cover it in powder and then fire it to turn it to a long lasting finish, and an instantly dry one, got home from a cruise last night with a load of brake dust all over them so might have to start sponging them down after long drives or something, but id definatley recommend it especially because of the different in price between that and buying new alloys!

only problem is that 15s look too small i think the arches are fairly big on these cars. Tho i do like your finish k33elv. I think ill just wear the tyres out on the standard wheels then get a wheel tyre package (trying to be cost effective)

Had them on my car for quite a while, then when I put the 17's on, I put them on the Mrs car. They are in good condition :D

Looks really good in white too, I wasn't sure if i'd like them.

so would shot blasting/sand blasting/bead blasting or whatever they do be included in that process? ive got some wheels that have been painted really badly and there are runs on them and crap, i want to get them re-done but theyd look f-ing shit if you didnt completly strip the paint thats on 'em already.

Oh, and any recommendations of places to get it done? im in northern scotland and im pretty much gonna have to mail them i guess but still any ideas?

I dunno mate, easiest thing to do is to ring them and ask! the number of the people i used (Romax) is below, i know its miles away from you but like at least you can talk to him about the process/price etc and then find one closer to you! Just search yell.com for 'powder coating' or look through the wheel section (where Romax are listed) to get some people near you.
