My first car was A N15 5dr GA14DE it was nippy for a first car and I do not regretting it being my first car. way better then the VX Nova Corsa or Renualt Clio's I could of had a Renualt Clio 1.2 sport brand new for my 2nd car but I stuck with a N16 :). The Corsa Clio's Saxo and etc seem quick because its light and if you crash in one of then then your F@ked lol. Japanese all the way

sorry to burst that bubble. I feel the same way about this as you will :(. needless to say I plan on doing something about this when I rebuild my almera. thinking of a lateral/frontal support cage only, nothing that I can smash my head on.

so basically tey are slow expensive to maintain and shite if you crash them? sod it no wonder they are worth peanuts!

ncap tests can't shoew steering feel or driver enjoyment tho! and thats the only reason I put up with my GTi sorry the myth about jap build quality is just that my bro's focus is the same age as my mera but higher miles twice as realiable and a third of the cost for parts

I still feel safer in a Mera lol

thats like hitting a object that is a brick wall or a lamp post

Brick walls and lamp posts don't weigh 2 tonnes and drive at you at 80mph on the wrong sie of the road when you have your 2month old kid in the passenger seat and best mate & newly wed wife in the back.

HOLY SHIT! I'm gonna go buy a tank after reading that!

lol

at work I worked on the Audi, VW, BMW, Merc and Ford Focus C Max and all these are solid built cars compared to the N15 and N16's the quality build is a lot better then I thought on the Ford

Not yet heard of anyone killed in an N15, except a friend of a friends story about a 5 door that rolled over a roundabout and landed on its roof, although this guy seems to come out with a story for every occasion so I was dubious.

if you want steering feel and driver enjoyment, buy a 205 GTi.
been there done that and the 306 gti-6 great fun but hard work to keep on the road these days unless you are lucky enough to have a minted example!
as for steering feel nah thats why I am looking at lotus elises!

was merly saying the mera has more benefits than ncap stars eg an unburstable (well almost) engine in the SR20DE and a decent chasiss considering its ancient design. I stand by the belief that if the designers had tried as hard as the engineers the mera could have been a big success, a 306 pug is a fairly crude car in comparison imho yet far better to look at, simpler model choice and marketed much better and look at the number of them sold in comparison.
