STOLEN 99' Spec Almera GTi

done a few bits recently ready for Japfest 2 and JAE.

Ignition timing to 19' and FSE adjustable fuel pressure set back up to 3.5bar. SFS Performance silicone coolant hoses with Nissan GTi-R coolant outlet, providing correct fitment. clean water coolant flush and refill, some mayo found in expansion tank only? AEM 3' hardpipe intake with K&N filter, unsure if its giving any performance gains but it looks and sounds tidy. washed, de-tar, polish and waxed.

OE coolant hoses and clips lasted circa 15 years without bother, which I thought was excellent however I didn't want to push my luck.

Cheeky £48 offer to RamAir for the rad hoses accepted and GTi-R outlet was £15.

Bonnet looks a little washed out, crappy BB camera. Overall pleased with the drive and look at present.

Epic.

Only thing that spoils it for me is the air filter.

Tar chap, this small K&N isn't my preferred choice of filter but it's what I had spare and tbf they know their stuff at least. It'll do until I can source something else more grand again lol

Prep with pics from JapFest 2

Had a play with my spare valve cover, D1 spec rad cap with gauge, painted the battery clamp and lovely new CAI. Came out pretty decent bar one paint run and completely ran out of time to correct it. fitted the goodies, gave the engine bay a wipe down and dressed the rubbers.

I prefer the old valve cover colour personally. Red and blue clash.
Black silicone intake joiners & lose the wrap on the brace.

If you're going blue then you need to spray the engine bay I think. Looks ok on the finish to be fair. The only Blue valve cover should be VVL IMO.

Grey winned for me too.

I'm afraid too many colours in an engine bay, especially primary colours, just reminds me of things like this

Morning all - tar for the comments chaps. Took weeks and week to choose a new colour for the VC aswell LOL. The grey VC had a very OEM feel that i wanted to get away from after 5+ years. The blue value cover is staying as i think it looks lush and the finish for DIY is champion. I may perhaps slowly look to replace the red detailing in the engine bay, all bar the ht leads and air filter.
