the vtec system in honda's works entirely on oil pressure. My mates lude had low oil, the only reason he noticed is because the vtec didn't cut in until 6,800rpm lol!
Against a DC2 in a straight line, I would say it would be very close, with maybe the DC2 a car length ahead, but hey, i always say its down to the driver. I should think the lude would catch the dc2 back up though after 100mph, as it seems to not get affected by wind resistance until 120-130.
