The SEX... lol

Yesterday my new wind deflectors arrived & were fitted first thing & as I've always thought adds a little something to the look of a car.

Also today I retro fitted my duel horns from my older N16 a much more reasonable horn now they are doubled.

TWM short shifter update: after experiencing some stickiness in selecting gear, I used some all in one oil to lubricate the knuckle & bushes. And all issues are gone so am very happy with the shifter now.

I will be uploading some pics after Ferry Meadows once the car has been cleaned

180 dollars for the short shifter  I think a hacksaw is cheaper haha

There are cheaper versions of the same adapter I've found via eBay etc but as I wasn't sure of fitment I went with the TWM version as they were approachable & answered questions I had regarding the adapter.

$9 mod is cheaper :-D

Indeed but from the thread on B15 forum some had shifting issues due to location being off by a few millimetres. I'd want specifics before drilling the hole etc.

I dont think theres anything wrong with the standard throw on the dCi selectors.
Well it took a bit of getting used to at first and wasn't terrible. But as I'm used to a short throw from the P11 & I ordered this before having tried the DCi selector I wasn't gonna keep it as an expensive paperweight.

Have to admit am glad I fitted it as the difference is noticeable and brings a smile to my face when pushing her through the cogs.

Hi,
I bought that key off of Ebay for my P1 n16 - be careful not to use it in the door locks - made of tin... Bent first time i tried to turn ignition with steering lock in place... Filed it in the B1N.
Where did you get strut brace & how much please? Same question for the HID?
Cheers

Hmm I'd be worried about how hard you tried to turn the key to have bent it.The two sets I bought were spot on and works a charm with no issues maybe you picked up a dud key from a crappy seller have you contact them about the bent key?

As for the HID kit search for a 35w HID kit for the correct bulbs for your lights and will be a simple fix I bought mine about two years ago and price wasn't much over £30 but I got the plastic shelled ballasts as the older and larger metal one start to rust as I have them on my P11.

As for the strut brace it was bought from a member on here and is the only one in the UK as far as I am aware. There was an alutec for sale on here defo worth the outlay and very light also.

The plastic bits were all fine the blade simply bent in the door locks - Its was an 01' Sport+ TD with 170k so perhaps the locsk were knackered!
Shitty ebay £10 stuff.

I missed the last strut brace - I'll wait on a group buy or get one made up I suppose.

Will crack on with the HID as the factory option is no use for my 60 mile daily A-road commute. H7 55w.

Thanks for the reply & interesting thread on short shifter.

I'd suggest WD-40 to ease the locks as I can only imagine a lot of force needed to bend the metal my key was made from.

As for the short shifter wouldn't be without it, has made a difference to the stock throw even my pal who drove it when it was first bought and drove it to JAE was impressed with it compared to how it was before.

RCL> Remote central locking.
Sorry, thought it was kinda normal acronym.
I remember the launch of Peugeot 307 & the sales training we had-
Talking brakes alone was a mare - ABS with EBFD & EHA. PPDS with 6 MS airbags & PTPT seat belts.

Soo > Anti-locking brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution & Emergency Hazardlight Assist. Pre-Programmed Deformation Scenarios & Pyro-Technically Pre-Tensioned seatbelts.
Meaning - Hit the brakes & they dont lock-up & but do balance the bias to straighten things out all the while the hazard lights come on to warn others. You fail to stop & hit the other car, the front molybdenum steel chassis legs are perforated to fold in a specific way whilst the high limit elasticity plastic wings bend & dissipate the energy further as the engine shifts downwards under the footwell. To slow the human occupant the seatbelts trigger a small charge to tighten up & remove all the slack around you fat lardy tummy, when maximum tension is reached and the occupant moves forward the anchors begin to tear from the floor to reduce injury at full travel. By now the airbags have inflated at full power & then begun to slow & meet the occupant before deflating.
#nobodycares but its all true

Wow very interesting so many acronyms bet they do that to check who's had a drink at lunch time lol

Right has been a while since I managed to update you guys on the progress of the motor, not much has been done and also very few pics have been taken of the bits and bobs so this should be a brief-ish update to get things up to date.

Firstly VW Golf meets Almera and thankfully only minor damage caused to paintwork on the rear bumper was like having a dog sniff another dogs rear but the at fault driver settled up and both were left happy with sorting the issue out especially as the ding paid for my old bumper with Ph2 Gti splitter on to get sprayed up and ready for fitting.

Replacement LED CREE bulbs fitted to the sidelights, rear fog lights and reversing light. Difference is very noticeable and improves the look of the exterior at night with not more yellow alongside the HID's

Suspension mods purchased and awaiting fitting but will save that info until they are finally installed. While waiting for a mould to me made up for my bumper grill I took the car over to see Ade for some alloy welding so I could install the Forge intercooler and alloy hard piping as per Ed's stage 2 intercooler thread.

Fuel economy had really suffered recently and finally led to the car not willing to start one evening, after getting car back to the yard we found the earth strap to the engine was hanging on by a thread a temporary replacement found and car was running again and fuel economy was back up to where I had experienced it when I bought the car. Also found that the strap had been replaced before as this one had been bought from Halfrauds.

All fitted some slight adjustment needed to the intercooler as slightly at an angle but plenty of adjustment so will sort when crossmember rust is addressed.

The install was straight forward however the removal of the OEM pipework was a pain as battery tray needed removing and much patience to get the pipe through the gap by the crossmember as the install clearly wasn't done with the radiator or air con rad in place.

Since the install the drive is much smoother and the economy also appears much better but that might also be to do with the replacement earth to the engine. Can't wait to get a chance to install the turbo and get the body work sorted in the coming weeks.

nice progress you got there :) Noticed any performance changes after intercooler upgrade? More turbo lag or smoke? That crossmember looks just the same as ph1 did.. and I though ph2 were better protected from salty roads, guess not.
