Time to come out of hiding!

I`d say a nice clean up etc and you could make a nice small profit on it when you come to sell.
That`s the plan, tidy it up, put some original Rover alloys on it, use it for a bit, then sell it on.

I got it for £500 from a good friends wife who said "I`m glad it`s gone to a good home!" when I collected it on Sunday, to which I answered "It`ll have a good home while I`ve got it, but how long I`ll keep it, I don`t know".

It`s been serviced & MOTd by the same garage @ the end of my road that fitted the header on the GTi, since she inherited it from her aunt, about 5 years ago.

Plus, it`s totally standard, but it has a nice throaty growl when you floor it (like the GTi, when it just had the Janspeed bacbox fitted)!

Didn't know you paid for it, thought it was free! Shoulda nudged 'em down a bit, even £500 seems quite a bit for it TBH, and you know I'm not one of those "haters" here just saying that for the hell of it...

They came with those as standard, they came with two if you bought it in that colour

The T-series wasn't too bad, was not all-alloy so didn't have the same issues. And they were indeed quite powerful for such an anciently-based engine.

the T series was loosely based on the B series wasnt it? well based on the O series, which was based on the B series, or am i thinking of a different engine? if so the B series went back years and years, to the 50's iirc, definately in the spirit of rover to keep slightly redeveloping things and call it "new"

i kind of like it, well i dont hate it, bit of a sleeper, could suprise a few people in it although i doubt it will be as trouble free as a GTi.

That is correct, back to the "B", although I think there was an M-series somewhere. Was used in MGBs anyway!

I dont understand why? you already have a gti thats not un-usable as a daily driver and you have the qasqai on lease anyway

the MGB was B and C series, the C series being the 6 cylinder used in the MGC, and the rover V8 which was used in a few of them aswell. things were so simple 30 years ago

sorry for the off topic, but back on topic, as naylor says you now have 3 cars all serving the same purpose  get this GTi turned into a track slag quick

For all the rover haters, you may enjoy the following pictures....
