Tyres

iirc autech is 205/50

I have 195/55's on mine given the choice I would have gone for 50's with the coilovers you can feel the sidewall flex when cornering hard

Much better than average in the wet I thought on the N16 like and phenomenal in the dry.

Yeah i felt the T1-S were a bit poop in the wet however i dont really use my car to its full potential in the wet in fact i hate driving when its really wet so it doesn't bother me too much. My local tyre place were selling cheap federal or regal tyres and they were more expensive. So i think ive done alright.

I also looked for the 195/55/15 on ebay and they come back as £195 for for 4 plus £18 delivery So basically it was almost £100 cheaper to get the 50 profiles.

Has anyone ever used Falken tyres? I'm going to be replacing mine soon and might be able to get some for cheap, just wanting to know if people rate them or not.

Like i've said previously, T1R's are a good mid/high range tyre. Great in the dry, i drive back from whitby most saturdays at 3am, can see cars coming quite far ahead in the dark so you can treat that road like your own private racetrack. Last week the roads were dry and it wasn't frosty, i thought the toyo's were superb, infact it was one of the best drives ive had, from whitby to cloughton in about 10 minutes. However the journey today, the roads were damp, totally different story. Thing is though, weathers going to get better from now on so come the summer your going to be reaping the rewards.

Steven, the price difference between 50 and 55 is quite considerable, enough to make 50's very tempting.

I have Avon ZV5's on my GTi (205/55/15) and I can't fault em at all, drive it in the wet just like its dry!

£45 a piece from Endyke.

I think we are going to have to have a proper tear up soon Mark, maybe bomb up to the meet early doors so its a bit quieter!
