Vzr vs N1 drag race today

Had a Vzr vs N1 drag race today. I went to see the N1 lucino and while there another guy turned up to view her aswell, he had a black vzr. Richie the N1 owner sugested we go for a little drag while we had all three cars there at the one time, he wasn't trying to make us feel bad or anything just wanted to see the diferance for interest's sake. Anyway I ran first in my vzr and from the off there seemed nothing in it untill we hit the neo and then he just pulled away with ease. the same happened with the black one, no contest. Good to see it though as I thought there might not be much in it but there was. we're going to organise it another day with a digital camera and I can put it up to view should be cool

damien, did you get yours sorted out then!?? any troubles with it?! did you find out what caused the flat spot?
 
good idea. Anywhere in mind. you should put this up on racers haven too theres a good few vzr owners over there too
 
still not sure over the abreviations, is n1 a n15 guessing a 2ltr gti?
vzr the vvl thing they do in a 1.6 / 2ltr ?
 
no all vzr's are 1600 cc N1 is red top race spec engine normal vzr is blue top. 197bhp for the vzr-N1 and 173 bhp for the vzr
 
depends whats done to the n1 i was behind one when i first got my vzr and he didnt pull away..we need a 1/2 mile stretch of staright private road..gonna be hard to come by...theres a run in the industrial estate(Tallaght) i work in its just under 1/4 mile but id probably get sacked if i had 10 vzr's screaming up and down it..might get away with 3 or so if i cleared it with the security guard..need to after hours but..late sat or sun

btw wheres the n1 lucino?

m50, between lucan exit and tallaght exit northbound at 4:00 in the morning, hows that sound? haha.. i'm only joking,
totally would love a go of the vzr on the track or strip but would defo prefer if it was safe (and legal)

Straight line performance there's not much difference,around a track is where you will notice any difference!

I noticed a differance especially hopping out of one and straight into an N1. the other vzr driver said the same, thought it was a lot faster, good pilot though knows how to drive her on. the fact she's so fresh too could have a bearing on the result.
 
All this talk is making me edgy!! All this talk and we're yet to see one on the road here!

We've got two N1s sitting in Australia waiting to pass all the MOT testing... Along with two regular VZ-Rs...

Next week one of the N1s will be drag racing at one of our biggest events... Claims are of 137kw (184hp) at the wheels.... Should be into low 13 second passes...
 
it wont do low 13's mate..forget about it...the 175bhp standard vzr does 15.5 or so..no way an extra 10 -15 bhp(probably less from what ive heard of dyno runs) is gonna push it on to low 13's id be shocked if a stanard n1 broke 14.5
 
standard N1 is recorded as running 14.3 stock... (got a video review) all in jap!

This guys is stripped, has ECU, Jun retainers, cams, extractors and a few other goodies... I've been told its run 13s whilst it was still in Japan so I'm waiting for him to match up against his step-brother... (in his N14 Pulsar (sunny).. and he's expecting low 11s...Naturally Aspirated...)

Low 11's?! What the hell is that running at :eek: and with what motor?

Right now, I can confirm that 2nd gear has 121Km/h wheel speed@8800rpm
3rd sees around 160Km/h, 4th is over the 200 mark and 5th gear sees the needle disappear off the gauge(got to check speed rating on my K104's!). 6th gear allows around 2450rpm to keep a steady 100Km/h which should save some fuel on long trips. 1st gear sees around 75Km/h at redline... Should be great for VTEC smashing from a standing start

few other forged goodies and a liquid nitrogen air intake kit has been setup as well I believe..

still a race against time to see if it is ready for this weekends event..

I'm prepared to believe it (sounds possible I guess).....but until I see it myself those are big claims he makes.
So far he’s all talk (not saying he’s not telling the truth!) but no pictures/vids or anything. :cool:
If I had all the stuff he has and has access too I'd either "share it all" or "shut the f**k up and keep everything secret" not dribble claims and stories and prove nothing.
