Which Exhaust would fit better?

Just recently someone told me that the 5zigen 5zigen - Pro Racer A-Spec
Nissan - Pulsar JN15 SR16VE - Pipe 60.5 - Tail 100/150mm, PRN-015 would also fit my n15 2.0 gti. (this version i saw at nengun.com)

now i found a company in my neighborhood that sells these:

since i dont want to import the wrong exhaust i really want to be sure that im buying the right one. Since everyone of you has experience in putting other exhausts on your car, i would like to have a penny for your thoughts..

Are those primera exhausts? The N15 wasnt built with an SR20VE. If they are prim ones they wont fit, but the JN15 5zigen one will.

well im sure the first one is a almera exhaust, because it says pulsar jn15 on nengun. the bottom 4 i am not sure, but i mailed the guy if he had the 5zigen pro a spec exhaust for the almera n15 and he sent me that list of 4 exhausts.

so i reckon they are for an almera?

I believe 5zigen only made a system for the JN15 VZR, although Rowdy may clarify that.

Just buy the one for the JN15 because then you're GUARANTEED a direct fitment.
And don't be concerned that its produced for a 1.6 engine.. This 1.6 has 175bhp, so the exhaust will be absolutely fine for a GTi.

okay i was afraid that because the 1.6 had different diameters then the ones with sr20de before it, that maybe it wouldnt fit. Im not a mechanic myself, so would be a bugger if i would try to place it and it wouldnt fit.

i also thought that because those others where made for the sr20de it would be better for the exhaust flow or some what:) but then will probably be my noobishness:) so the ones with sr20de before it arent better then the sr1.6ve?

Let me make this clear, SR16VE has 175bhp.. The SR20DE has 143bhp. Exhaust systems for the VZR will most likely excel the ones made for a standard GTi, thats if they even make one for the GTi.

Any system made for the VZR will be a perfectly good upgrade for a GTi..

okido! :) no i was scared seeing the diameters 150-100 for the 1.6 would be to big for the 125-90 of the sr20de. thanks for the help, because i was really scared that i was going to order the wrong stuff :)

VE head needs to breathe better than the DE. if its any concellation i have a custom made 2.5" exhaust system on my GTi

Japanese exhausts wont be as good as a decent custom exhaust, because the japs have to put lots of baffles in all of their exhausts to meet all kinds of noise and emission regulations, it will sound very nice and look great but more gains can be had with a decent custom exhaust, it will probably be considerably cheaper aswell.

;)

well the 5zigen pro racer a-spec is just a cat back exhaust, other parts will be added later on. like a different manifold. since im just a student i cant afford to buy it all at the same time:(

but why would a custom exhaust be better if huge company's make exhausts for a living?

because custom exhausts dont have to meet strict japanese regulations, thus it will be much more free flowing.

Jap exhausts

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I had a Jap legal Jasma stamped exhaust on a previous car and it was 103db loud ! And that's supposed to be 'strict' noise regs ? I ended up with a very non-Jasma plated HKS system that put out 98db.
The good thing about custom made exhausts is you can spec the 'loudness' as it's made. If you want noise, then ask for no baffles and a big bore. If you want it semi-legal but better than standard, ask for a single sports cat & silencer. You get more performance, a distinctive sound and no headaches ! Job done ;)

Buts its an aftermarket exhaust so surely the regs wouldn`t be so strict. I`ve seen some terrible quality custom made exhausts. I think its very hit and miss with them.

Zorsts

That's fair comment Rowdy - I think you have to do your homework & have a good look at anyone's work before asking them to build a custom exhaust for you. You could have a bag of nails for £180 or a quality effort for £300. You usually get what you pay for.

5zigen is a brand name that many people swear by.. I believe that their exhausts would be top notch quality, otherwise they wouldn't have the reputation they have got currently.
