thanks naylor. does that apply to any film or do you need special heat shrink stuff?

on that one Im too sure, a guesstimate would say any stuff, its a kinda plastic-y stuff, its going to shrink and curve slighly with heat Id imagine

Thanks naylor. will have a go at that this weekend if I get the time.

I thought any non factory tinting forward of the B pillar was illegal?

It is mate. Nothing other than a factory privacy smoke must be present.

I did mine by removing my front 2 windows, rear quarters are moulded in so the inside of the car got a bit wet for those! and my rear window is done in 5 sections using the de-mister strips to hide the join lines.

In the paperwork for mine I found a reciept from a previous owner:

Window tinting - black: £250

And they've done a mint job, no bubbles, no seams, really properly done. I think it looks infinitely better than any DIY efforts I've ever seen. Professionally is the way to go IMO, most DIY efforts even with lots of care and time in the world just look shoddy or have bubbles and creases.

Veero, was this done locally in the Southwest?

this geezer i new used to do every ones tints in my area and to get rid of creases u do the hair dryer trick like was mentioned and i reckon it applys to any tint as this geezer used to tint with wot ever was brought to him. for the back windows you do it in strips other wise u never get round the curvs using a d.i.y hairdryer job. and using loads of water before hand on windows to clean em and loads on tint is a must. will u b takin the windows out coz there a lot easier to do when out. an ice scraper covered in a sock is an essential for getting out creases!! u also gotta b quick or the water drys and ure buggered. thats my knowlage for ya

Anyone had any dealings with g-force in middlesborough. ive just been quoated £120 for rear three windows as they said any tints on front is now illegal.

they are actually ok mate!

i had a set done for my micra - didnt have time to do them myself cos i was still spraying the car - sop took the windows to them - they did mine cheaper cos all the windows were actually out of the car. lol. but it was a very good finish.

good for the price they charge!

Simcard if you're still after tints try blackout in hartlepool, did my SRi windows for £150 all round, was about 2 years ago though but at least get a quote! this was when Gforce were charging like £250
