YOKOHAMA PARADA SPEC-2

Currently have yoko spec 2`s on my primera and they are funkin shite in the damp / wet

before the yokos had 2 sets of flaken 451 and 512 craking tyres and i ragged the car till it died ( they just never let go )

AVON Z? Anygood?

Hmm as the FALKEN's are the cheapest option, i might just go for them this time around then.
AVON's ive always found are no better than most £50 tyre, but seem to charge 20%>30% more...

I recommend Pirelli P600's, got them all round on my car and can't fault them at all! Brilliant in the dry and in the rain!

How much did they set you back fella?

Car already had them on when I got it but had to replace the front two just before Christmas, gf's dad is a mechanic so got them done cheap, £50ish fitted per tyre if I remember correctly. In comparasion Kwik Fit will rob you £87 each and for fitting for the 4 etc it's £388.

My fronts are Avon ZZ-3s that came with the wheels when I got them and I must admit they're quite good, but they seem a bit scary in the wet, they're compared to T1-Rs on some websites, but in my experience T1-Rs are much better!

I'm actually looking for a pair of 205/40/17 tyres for the front to replace them now. I can get T1-Rs for £58.90 a corner but I'm looking around to see if there's anything else out there that will do as well but wear less quickly!

Eagle F1's are awesome in the dry so long as it's not below about 6°C outside. However, if it's cold or wet they're piss poor! And don't even consider going out if it's snowing... Also, the Eagle F1 GS-D2's are better than the GS-D3's.

the ones on the sol were great wet or dry, In wonder how much difference tyres are on different cars? The almera is pretty poor in the wet for understeer anyway.

what sorta prices have you paid for a pair, of either type chap?

the vredisteins were £120 for 2 195/55/15"s, think the eagles were a bit more, more like £70 odd each

Ive heard rave reviews about teh Pirelli Dragos though. Most of my mates have the pradas on and say theyer ok in the wet, but syaing that most of them drive scoobys/evos so theyre 4wd anyway

i always had toyos on my primera as i got them cheap. great in the dry, funking rubbish in the wet, waaaaay too much lift off oversteer. have yoko spec2's on the pulsar, don't know what they are like yet as i've not driven it yet!

This is pretty much what i found :O

Im basically lookin at spending a max £60 a corner, atm th FALKEN's are looking favorable, on the same site i found PARADA's get 4.6 outa 5, and TOYO's get 4.3, the FALKEN's get 4.5, but the stats show them as a better performer across all types of test.
The other two excel in the dry but are let down in the wet, giving them an average of the same:cool:

Seriously mate you aught to considder BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE720 they are awesome loadsa grip and they are quie hardwearing allround they are ace!!!!!!

I've got Continental conti sport's all round bar 1 Michelin Pilot sport on the back.

They grip good wet or dry, but the car handles very well even with ditch finders so I can't really tell.

Had a quick look on the net mate, and buggered if i can find them in: 205/40/R17 size

hmmm strange well there are 2 other bridgestone potenza`s there is the RE 040 and the RE 050 there might be more but try lookin for either of these mate you cant go wrong with potenza`s

Yeah seem to be able to spot them on there just not the ones you 1st mentioned. But deer though
Thanks anywho:)

Here is what I've found on many set's of tyres.

Falken ZE512: My brother has them on his S13 and he says they are piss poor.
Falken FK452: Me bro' now has these on his SR20 powered S13 and says they are a massive difference to the 512's. Sooo much grippier and more controllable/
Falken FK451: I have these on my 380bhp Z32 and think they are great. Not massively grippy (certainly not rubbish) but soo controllable in wet or dry (which is what i wanted DRIFT!!!). Plus they lasted 3 track days and about 5k miles so dead pleased. Fronts actually lasted about 10k!.
Toyo (any): Mates have had them on various cars and all say grip like mad in dry, crap in the wet and don't last more than 6 months.
Yoko: See Toyo ^^^
Uniroyal Rainsport (RS1): Excellent! Got them on my Almera GTI and even in the wet hardly any wheelspin at all even from a standing start. Brother even has them on his 200bhp Micra and that has very minimal wheelspin in the dry. Obviously with that power and weight there is spin in the wet but cornering seems very good.

And thats pretty much all I know.

Ivan

Cheers for that Ivan, handy to know.
The FK452's are what a chap i work with recommended as he has them on his 330ci bmw, but from what ive read this model are only usually supplied for larger/wider wheels, so ill have to do some searching. Cheers anyways. Dan

How random, when I found out i needed to change my tyres ASAP last week, my local tyre place offered me Parada Spec-2s at a good price, so I got them, and I must admit so far I find them utterly amazing in both the wet and the dry, maybe this is down to the fact that my old tyres were so worn, but I've had brand new T1-Rs on before and I'd say these are better than the T1-Rs!

They look cool too! lol
