Eh? sounds like scare mongering to me. If done properly you can cut springs ( i`ve done it and passed MOTs ) and i doubt VERY much a MOTer counts the coils.:rolleyes:

theres nothing wrong realy with cut springs, turn in is massively improved and the rides not bad...

Yeah nothing wrong apart from the strut is likely to be too big for the spring so there's a chance over a big bump the spring could become skeewiff and quite dangerous. I suppose it depends on how much you cut.

I worked on a Puma with cut springs, they were no where near where they were supposed to be, but you only had to start jacking it up and they would turn.
