almera spec lists

Yeah you did LULZ.

You could always get a lower model and easily acquire SRi/GTi kit to go in, on, around, it :)

A clean shell is far preferable to the type of front bumper you've got on, as Corbs said it's all easily swappable but rust costs money to fix :(

Trust me mate if its not an Si/SRi/GTi dont bother looking a it those 3 models have best spec.

just so you know. i'm giving you a reeealllly dirty look right now.

the only almera to come with ABS as a standard fit is the GTi

all 1999 almera's - regardless of trim - have ABS

All phase twos except the ambition came with air con.

1.6l phase 2 almeras have a 252mm front disc, which is ridiculously expensive when needs replaced

the SRi has no more power than any other 1.6 almera.

the SRi *may* have slightly harder dampers than other almera's

and my car is a GX. RECOGNISE

Aye tis bollocks. Only difference is splitter (P2 only), bumpers, no bumpstrips (P1), interior, alloys (But even then very early ones like nymo might not have had alloys).

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek sorry :(

£5k insurance???? do you enjoy getting raped?? surely you can get it cheaper than that on a gti?

ok that was a light exaggeration, but to give an example cheapest qoute for a gti is £3367 by elephent, there is no way on this earth would i pay that for insurance even if i could afford it.

even then insurance has gone up for me some reason, a month ago cheapest qoute for a 1.6sri was around £1300, and now its £2000 WTF

oh and ps I'm only 20 with 0 ncb and live in a inner city which is classified as a high risk area so im gonna get raped regardless.

Plus I'm only 20, 0y NCB, 6 points, licence revokee, living in the ghetto, and my 1.6 SRi is £700 to insure.
So where the hell you looking?
Joe

true, that is my main concern with the almera they seem to rust 100 times worse then some of its competitors, i would rather have a good shell then a rusty one and end up paying hundreds to get it sorted, that said i would rather get an si, sri or some special edition that has some bk, cos if i end up buying a pov spec and doing it up it will cost me to buy the parts and then my insurance premiums will sky rocket when i declare them and i cant afford any of that, my buying budget will be around £700 (which is not much).

how did you manage that?

ive been doing qoutes on gocompare and moneysuparmarket and the cheapest was quinn a month ago. why is mine so expensive? :(

havent rung around as i wont start looking until end of this month as i need to sort some stuff out first.

Well what type of cover are you looking for? To be fair almeras are cheap to repair so you only really need TPF&F.
I use elephant, they're competitive, after all an SRi is only insurance group 7!
Joe

confused.com?

Churchill can be good with unmodified cars.

SRi bumpers without lips and interior changes hardly count as they are standard parts.

Looking for TPFT obviously as i dont think its worth paying extra for comprehensive on an old cheap second hand car.

confused.com always come up with more expensive quotes i think they must add there commission onto the prices. Cheapest qoutes ive ever got is from quinn and they have been few hundred pound cheaper then others, followed by endsliegh, admiral and elephant, i think i might give admiral a try they might give a discount as i was a named driver on a policy with them around 1-2 years ago.

and i would of thought adding an sri bumper and a spoiler would count as a modification cos say if you bought l an equation then its standard spec list is not a sri bumper or a spoiler, so adding them is modifying it? same i would assume iwth gti alloys.
