used to be 30% transparency. ie you could tint them 30% darker than standard.

windscreen is obviously a no no as lets face it you would see fuck all.

No you cant. Any tint applied after the car has left the factory to the front passenger and driver windows is illegal. A factory tint is such a light application its barely noticeable. All after market tints are darker than that of the OE shades and if a car is found to be fitted with a film to the fronts it is deemed illegal and not MOT passable.
