FOSSIL FUELS - BP0 TURBO

It was weird... Never had it happen before on any car I've had...

Was just driving through Bedford town centre when I got to a roundabout and it just gave up on me...

Waited 5 mins and then tried to start it again...
With a little persuasion it started..

Got down to the next roundabout it cut out again... This time I was on the roundabout when it gave up...
Luckily a walker by helped push the mera off the roundabout...

Pushed it about 1/4 mile... And waited another 5 mins then drove it the 50ft in to the closest petrol station ...

Put 30 quid of juice in it... Started up first turn of the key..
Not had a problem since...

Cant see it being anything than than the fuel pump.
 
Get in touch with Rob at HRC, he was pretty helpful when I was buying a pair of pumps, see if he has any ideas. I doubt it is a common problem as I know 5+ Almeras/Primeras with them in which have no problem with low fuel cutout.
 
Had this happen on 2 of my old gtir's.
1st time was position of the pump so filter was directed further down. Problem solved.

Second time was faulty pump so was replaced, problem solved.

Get inside the car in a quiet location. Turn ignition on and listen the the sound of the fuel pump turning over. Weak or strong sound?
When the sound was weak fuel pump was on its way out. Normal sound possibly position of filter.

P.s your mods list states battery to boot. I take it is an error..

Seriously do like the look of this car. Oem and would fool many.
Get it to 300bhp.
I am presuming with that spec and 7psi boost around 230-240bhp?

Actually rob mine has struggled to start after a journey when low on petrol since the map, hasn't happened as yet with a full tank. I will bare this in mind. Should fit the HRC really lol

I picked up the relocation kit from Hally at JAE

It's not been fitted ;)


EDIT.....

That is supposed to say NOW fitted... Bloody predictive text.
 
I had the same problem with the hrc, couldn't go further than 40 miles without it cutting out, stock pump back in, been fine ever since
