Ok cheers,

Yes I have filled in the form just need to post the cheque off for membership!

The red light has only flickered on a couple times, always straight from cold and never when warm. The oil in it is Exxons finest crude so just an oil change might sort that.

People recommend something like Wynns engine oil flush when changing oil? Over on the SR20.net site I saw an article about running that stuff through to clear out all the sludge.

Oil pump change a pain in the arse job?

And finally what mileage do the cam chains need changing at (never owned a non-cambelt driven car)?

Cheers guys, Ill get that cheque off tomorrow!

it'll be fine with some engine flush, I use it a lot but people say it eats seals(but hasnt ate mine)
but, with yours having 120,000+ miles on it I'd be wary about using it, if its never had stuff like that before then you could end up with big chunks of built up crud coming loose and foating round and blocking oilways

everyjob on a sr20 is a cunt as per lack of space, and the way the engines put together out the car, means every clip/nut/bolt is in a position to be awkward

should never really need to change a chain I dont think

Mine's just coming up to 96k miles.

As for the space issue, I'm used to working on a 205 mate, so the Almera bay is huuuuuge by comparison. :P

Spoken to a mechanic chap tonight, and he agreed about using the flush. He said not to use it every oil change but every now and again just to give it a spit and polish inside and not to idle it for 15 mins (as per tin instructions) just 5-10 instead to get the worst out.

Not had the oil light on again yet so will change it on Saturday.

Cheers fella
