the engine running and the ignition on is no different - position 3 reverts back to 2 as 3 is only for cranking!

should work when your dash light are illuminated on pos 2

thats what im gonna check today.

took one of the bulbs out and it looked ok.

but i was pissed off at that point as i dropped my 8mm socket when removing an outer and it fell down between the inner and outer skin of the rear arch. lost forever.

I bet you can get it back, theres a little rubber grommet behind the bumper under the car, I fished out loads of stuff from my gti and a few coins from the autech
