Fred, quoting a single sentance from the whole post doesnt show its true meaning.

I said it SEEMED like they hadnt been adjusted up. I saw it with my own eyes and I adjusted one side while Si did the other. They must have adjusted out about 3-4mm each side.

Im not slagging you off Fred, im just saying WHAT I SAW!!

Quoted from my WAMT post...
Woah... I didnt aim that at you Fred. If I had a problem i'd have PMd/Text rather than post...

It was obviously good enough to pass an MOT and im not doubting your ability to work on cars. I was just stating what the problem with the braking was. I believe that the problem didnt arrise until after fitting the Sport+ brakes because the master cylinder was able to push enough fluid to fill the 1.5 calipers, after fitting the bigger setup more fluid is needed, therefore the master cylinder needs to to push more, making the pedal travel further!
CHILL FREDDO, CHILL!!!

AH! Sorry dude, have only skimmed through this thread, so didn`t know/realise you`d changed the front brakes.

Makes sense now.

Sorry. :grouphug:

Right, as Japfest is nearly here the car will be getting a proper clean. So in preparation I've just order chemical guys tyre gel, chemical guys synthetic detailer, autoglym glass polish, autoglym engine degreaser, huge drying towel and an applicator pad. Damn cleaning products wasting all my money!!

Running Millers CFS 5w40. But the engines only done 65k so im a little concerned as to how badly its been looked after previously :(

might be worth a wet and dry compression test too mate, just to put your mind at rest that it's not the rings/bores

My personal opinion is that 5w40 is too thin. Custom builds with tighter tolerances can get away with oil being so thin when the engine is cold but no so much on a mass produced datsun. No doubt this reply wont be everyones cup of tea but i've always ran 15w40 and never had any issues. Currently on some Fuchs 10w40 that spyke uses and all seems gravy.

Ill do a compression check to make sure tings is good. But the white one didnt burn any oil, ever!

Ill burn up the rest of the 5w40 and then go for something thicker to see if that helps!

Well my 1.8 speedo sensor turned up yesterday, so i decided to fit it this morning.

Removed the 1.5 sensor from the 1.8 gearbox and it looked like this...

OH SHITE! I think theres some little bits of plastic in my gearbox now :( But I plugged the 1.8 sensor in and hey presto, speedo works :)

I guess ill be needing to change the box oil now to see if I can get some of the shavings out...

damn ^^

so what exactly was the issue with speed senders, the original in the 1.8 was knackered or your using the 1.5 ecu and theyre not compatible?

The problem being the Twister hasnt got ABS, which the Sport+ uses to pick-up road speed. So I just popped the 1.5 speed sensor in the 1.8 box thinking they were the same... Turns out they arent

Well I cant be arsed to take it apart atm, once ive got the diff ect ill be buying another box to fit the diff to so this one will be become redundant!

but if the sport+ uses abs sensors for road speed why would it have a speed sensor in the gearbox, there for 1.8 models without abs?

All the gearboxes have the hole for a sensor as the earlier ones (EG my old white Sport) had a sensor instead of using the ABS. The later ph1s and all ph2s just had a plug in the hole, suppose it was cheaper for Nissan to make a plug than re-design the gearbox casing!
