Nissan dealer

My Nissan dealership is buckin useless (Flear & Thomson Dunfermline), told me my car and engine didn't exist. Wouldn't even order me parts with part numbers and VIN. They told me my VIN was made up. One of the mechanics told me The service manager wouldn't touch my car, he was only interested in services.

yup mine too.

old boy with a whistle and glasses?

i went through a phase when he actually learned my name cause i was in there so often.

he has since been replaced. and the replacement is HAWT, but i bet she knows less bout nissan

I guess TTS knew what they were doing but I can see that better injectors would be the next move :). Hope they're available for you Paul.

I've been recommended an upgrade to an AEM FC to control the fuelling better - in conjunction with 4 new uprated injectors. This would vastly improve the efficiency of the car's fuelling & probably gain a few bhp at the same time. I'll have to do a bit of research, find out what's available & what will fit, but it really does appeal to me. To be honest, with the AFR gauge installed I can see how difficult it is for the Aquamist MF2 to keep up with the variation in demand. It just isn't ideal & shows up it's limitations. So all going well I'll get this done in the spring, along with the header & sports cat. That way the fuelling should be spot on & far superior to what I currently have. :)

well the worst car experience i have ever had was at the Benfields nissan next to Heworth metro in Gateshead.
It was about 3 years ago and i went in to buy a Primera. Problem was the wife was going to be the main driver and she wanted something smaller so we got shown an '04 Almera 3 door SE in black. Took it for a test drive and she loved it, i would of prefered a Primera but it was nice enough. Done the deal and went home.
Now dont get me wrong the car was lovely to drive and couldnt find a fault.
Anyway after about 9 months the car kept steaming up. We found out why, the spare tyre well was full of water and i mean full nearly to the top so seeing it was still under manu warranty took it back to be repaired as i thought it was a seal.
Went to pick up the car next day and signed the paperwork, the receptionist says to me 'when was the car repaired from the rear shunt it nmust of had?' I went of it, called the branch manager over who took us into his office and said he had no idea what we was on about and it hadnt ever been crashed. I told him i will find out exactly what had happened.
Went home got the logbook out, looked at the details for the last owner, found her phone number. I asked was benfield aware of any accident damage and she said 'yes, as it was taken as part ex against another car there and they authorised the repair'..................now im fuming!

went mental in the showroom, was promised a cash deal to accept the car. To cut this story short this went on for a year arguing with citizens advice, nissan headoffice, benfield headoffice, the company that did the HP etc. got fed up and ttraded it in myself.

The damage was to the car was whole drivers side rear, glass part roof, tailgate, bumper etc. The metallic paintwork where it had been sprayed was brownish in the sunlight.

Can i recommend everyone to not go there. The car was practically a cut and shut and was sold as new as it was 9 months old when i got it. And the arguement hasnt finished yet as im about to start it up again...so branch assistant manager Chris expect more letters!

Shall i tell you all the reg in case one of you buys or has it?

The big 'faux pas' there was the fact that they kept it all quiet. It may have been repaired properly other than the leaking boot/ wheelwell. But they should have told you regardless.
It wouldn't do any harm to let us know the reg mate, so at least everyone on here knows the history.

its a import thats why. Nissan don't really like imports lol

along with the header & sports cat.

you might have issues with the sports cat. my mate had a sports cat and cat back exhaust fitted fitted on a Mazda 6 and now and then it sends the ECU crazy putting it into safe mode to make the car run stupidly rich. you might have to get a lambda emulator to sort this out.

Darren

Yeah, I've heard of this problem before. I'm not quite sure why this should happen though, as the exhaust is still using all the factory sensors (inc. lambda probe). With no cat in at all, I could understand it more. But I can definitely do w/out the bloody ECU light going on & off - I've had enough of that already, lol ! As I said, a bit of research is needed before I go ahead with this. ;)
