Si2001's Mera

Yeah G.....hopefully i'll see you at the next big meet. You'll have to hav a blast in it :D

Dave.........Just standard pistons at the moment mate. Was thinking of some gti-r pistons if i wanted to go 1 bar of boost....what ya reckon? or should i save for the forged jobs?

Original gti-r manifold and downpipe....meeting up with the de-cat pipe. Could probably do with a full 3" or 3.5" system...something to come later.

Ah, it's rubbish, man.

Could you not get a red one,

Hodge. ;)

I would of mate but some dodgy old fella got the last one :p

Si...

You wanna go with a 3" downpipe onto a 3" system...this will be suffiecient for your needs. I can get this part for you!

As for the forged pistons...I can hook you up with a set of Wiseco forged pistons + rings @ 8.8:1 comp. ratio.

PM me if ya need to!!!

Cheers

Dave

Good job mate.. not a big fan of the GTiR bulge being on anything on anything except where it belongs but this looks very good indeed.. especially as its there for a reason.. ;)

The Pulsar badge on the front sounds good too...

Cant wait to here more when you up your boost..

Just the 4wd to come.!!

Thanks for the info dave i'll give em a ring probably next week.

Cheers Paul and Jme...though i dont think i'll ever see 4wd :)

Whoa... Are you faster than Bull?

No chance mate....i'd have to spend a hell of a lot more than i have to be even close...

The standard quoted by nissan out the factory was 227BHP but they normally run 220BHP stock.

Guessing the 227 is Crank figures ?, jus wondering because with the GTiR being 4WD id imagin it looses a fair whack shifting all 4 wheels

Its the standard Gti lump as in SR20DE not the DET it was a turbo conversion on the original engine, not a swap.

The 227bhp+ figure mentioned is for the Japanese Pulsar GTi-R DET which are mapped to run on 100+ RON petrol, the 220bhp is for the UK Sunny Gti-R DET mapped to run 220bhp on 95 RON petrol. Obviously the same engine but mapping for higher RON fuel acheives the higher figure.

So stock figures for the SR20DE in the Almera GTi range from 141 to 143 possibly quoted higher elsewhere as well. It's basically still the stock DE block mapped via the G-Reddy Emanage to run on 97+ RON fuel but obviously with a T28 turbo bolted on running at 6psi of boost. I think the JWT S3 cams and gears helped greatly though to acheive the figure.

233bhp was at the crank. 174bhp is usable wheel power, but yes there would be less transmission loss than with the 4wd Gti-R's.

233 hp is good for just 6 lbs of boost...get the low comp. pistons in there, with a 3" downpipe & system and you'll easily make 350 hp on 20 lbs boost.

Waaahhaaay, another mera they may actually be a challenge!

Cheers
