The rust removal thread.

Good job mate! Wouldn't have the balls to do it myself! lol

Reckon you need a laguna splitter though, really helps the front of the car and you'll notice massive difference, £5 out the scrappy and on Sun we'll be 5mins from it ;)

That looks ok. Obviously not great, but much better than before, plus you've slowed down/stopped the rust for now. I'll be more than happy if mine looks like that once me and quickdraw are done with it.

just noticed in th picture of the arch you can spot what else i painted when i was bored ;)

Aye, its not the best looking thing, but from a distance the colours match and it doesnt look too bad, up close its a bit worse, colours still match though. Might re-do it in the summer when its warmer and i have more patience/my hands arent about to fall off :P

No offence at all but if my work ends looking like that I WONT be happy

no offence cos i know what it takes starting off etc and muchos for tackling it yourself and what you say about just wanting to hit the rust etc

but nah!

id be well dissapointed f my work ended like that!

id prefer my work to end like this:

If i had spent a bit of time on it then it would have been nicer, it all came down to the fact i was freezing and wanted to get it finished :)

I did the other arch last year and its much nicer, so i have the ability to do it to a better standard, just couldnt be arsed this time.

i dont doubt for a moment mate :)

That is washed :p Haha, yeah I will give it a good jetwash down today. It's actually fairly clean, I just keep the alloys dirty as it hides the fact that they're falling to pieces :D

Well, after two days of working on the arches - in between quickdraw chatting up passing girls and abusing his flatmates, rust is now a distant memory!

I have to say, the guy is a complete legend. He spent so much time with me and was patient despite my retarded questions about spraying. The arches are also amazing. The shape is perfect. The only problem might be that 'artic white' spray isn't quite so arctic, so I'll find out tommorrow in the proper daylight whether its blended in perfectly or not.

Will stick up some pictures sooon!

Awww man, how could you, now you're not rusty :(

I am the lone rusto-farian!

I think the rust on my drivers door is so bad now there may not be much door left.
