the guy just rang back and bought the pug
Dude I had a brilliant time. Asides from the fact that my car looks sexy now, it was great to meet you and calder and mike. The image of the old fat man washing his car, unawares of the four of us sitting in the gti about to slap his arse will forever remain in my memory, for better or worse. hahahaha. Everyone else must be wondering wtf.
Ballam, the offer of me 'experimenting' on your arches is always there.. haha. They can only get better though.
RIGHT. here are the much awaited photos. Prepare yourself for a LONG post.
So as you all know, this is how they started out, shit stains down the side of my lovely white paintwork:
It wasn't long before quickdraw had me getting all the paint off, doing the rough stuff so he could get in there.
Once I'd cleaned it out, we shoved on some rust eater.
After wire brushing down what the rust eater didn't eat, and then spraying on some anti-rust primer, quickdraw shoved on some filler stuff to even out the arches and restore their shape where the rust had raped them.
This picture speaks for itself really:
While we waited for the filler to dry, we cleaned up the pug for sale. I washed the outside, while quickdraw bummed around with the hoover inside (come to your own conclusions).
I sort of forgot to take pictures at this point, but by the time I remembered, the primer was on and it was looking sexy already.
In the meantime, quickdraw's obession with hello kitty had infected my missus:
The next morning, and the arches were looking glorious:
It soon got dark after the Man utd vs Man city game, and so Wayne had to work with the gti's headlights pointing at the area.
AND HERE IS THE RESULT. This morning before i went to work I took some pictures, and despite 'arctic white' paint resembling piss more than white, with a bit of mixing quickdraw managed to get a good match. Bear in mind the paintwork hasn't even been rubbed to make it shine yet, as we didn't have time last night. And yes, we probably should have covered the wheels before starting. hahaha.
