'The Sleeper'

To be honest, selling it!

I won't let it go for any less than £5K. A lot for an Almera, yes, but to find a quicker car for that kind of money, will be virtually impossible.

I have the 'Little Bandit' feature from 2007!

5 copies to be exact!

"Pfft Grandad, that was a fluke."
"Oh yeah? Suck on these potatoes junior.."

In all seriousness your build was inspirational, even to people like me who are never going to get round to trying to follow it. There is, however, someone out there who will read the article and think "Awesome! Maybe I could do that."

Do it for them.

Yeah fine bud, I just don't have the same interest in it anymore!

It's a never ending saga bud, you can never go fast enough and to go faster, costs more and more money.

In saying that, there is always someone who's faster, so it's a visious circle!

Which is why BHP/Ton is the wrong metric.

Should be BHP/£

You don't have to win to win when the game is rigged. You just have to make the best effort you can.. and the sleeper was a blinding effort. Most people with a modicum of clue respect that more than just being 'fastest'. But as you did 'fastest' too it's all good.

I had it out today at the workshop to do some work before its MOT, which is due this month.

Did the lower radiator hose and adjusted the fuel tank (i.e. hit the thing with a big hammer) to clear the exhaust while going over large bumps / holes.

Only downside now is I think I have dislodged the float from the fuel tank sender unit, as the gauge is no longer working!

DICKHEAD!!!

You mean that hitting it with a hammer didn't fix the problem? Strange...
Good to hear that you're still doing the upkeep and MOT stuff mate.

LOL, no it fixed the problem with the exhaust as it is no longer hitting anything at all, but I created a new problem by not having a working fuel gauge!
