updates on the n14 vvl/ nos/ lsd project

Andy, the VE is all about being able to breathe. As soon as you choke it up with a skinny turbo and manifold, 300 bhp is a little harder to achieve.

Gtx3076r with a apt .72 t25 footprint tial waste gate exh housing. . Then run it at 3psi

Theres another ex rally GTi in build progress at the moment too, whos is darren?

Gtir mani can be used but it will choke a VE dude, look into getting an equal length tubular jobby, the only way you will get away with a log style on a VE is if you run a turbo with a huge turbine housing to get reduce reversion. Look at the AM performance one ive got, it places the turbo in the same place as the stocker, he has seen stock GTiR's see full boost 800rpms earlier than the stocker (apparently) we'll see how well it does with mine, makes me think about which housing I should go for on my build if the mani flows so well

Wezz: more info about ex-rally GTi?

Seriously, this VE-T setup wont work well. If you want a VE, keep it N/A, do it right and you will have no problem to see 230-250hp which will be very fast. If you want turbo, just get a DE or DET. VE is good for bigger turbos and you dont want 350+Hp in FWD anyway...

VVL + 5.1 FD + Quaife = FUN. Thats the same thing im going to do. :)

I did not said a thing about Wezz or his setup as its completely different from this project.

Im not going to critize driver in the video as its my customer, but... rather spend more time at track yourself than bitching on forum. :)

Btw. i was only trying to help Andy, as I have some experiences and I know what works well and whats wasted time/money.

Thanks for the input guys, even if the topic has going slightly off track.
I have decided to stick with this set up.

I have seen a few cars with this set up already and some videos.
Has worked fine for them.
I am not going wild remember, just want to keep it street, nice and simple.

A few quotes below for those on this sr20ve with t28 (turbo from a gtir) set up.

1. wow not to many people just bolting the turbo to a stock a VE, I heard it safe with only 7 psi, right? with a t28
2. Guys have made pretty good power with the setup you descibe , just with good tunning ...
3. This setup is a stock VE with SR16 cams at 14-15psi on a T28.
It is a bad-ass street car.
4. From what I've seen it comes down to controlling 2 factors that determines what power you can make on a stock sr20:

a) avoiding detonation
b) controlling back pressure

5. GTIr manifold and turbo are big enough not to choke up the stock VE?
6. With a good tune its a great setup. Kyles car made good numbers for such a simple setup.

Suppose, just seemed really cautious to me.

Early on the brakes too.

Understandable if he was green to the track/course or even getting used to the cars state of tune.

Maybe my initial post was a bit harsh on reflection.

^ Will deffo try and source one of these to go with the 3' exhaust system.

Wezz, Darren has the red Sunny Gti, Gti-r replica with gti-r engine. He is up your neck of the owwod too. Sunderland I think. On my FB and Nissangtir site.

Andy, you are quoting people that are no SR20 specialist. They really dont know what they talking about... but well, its your car.

Def. yes on the 3" elbow...

VSS Irvine: Thats very nice, piece of NME history... i had original Sunny Cup from Czech republic championship (raced back in 93´). But that was just stock GTi with just bolt-in cage, seat, steering wheel, belts, fire system, strut bars and slicks. Thats it. Most of these cars were used in Gr. N rally after championship ended.
