How do mate. The mera is a little battered at the moment she's been neglected for a while. But I'm back on the case and sorting her out bit by bit. She looks far from the pics mate. At the moment i've got SRI rims on the front and GTI's on the back and rear bumper is looking a bit sorry...........nothing a bit of elbow greese can't sort out.
 
Ok not had an update on this for a while now.
Well i've neglected the car for some time now :( and she's not lookin the best so recently I thought I'd better get ma arse in gear and sort it out. Started by fitting in two shiney new wishbones and they seem to feel better but car needs tracking!.
Then i attacked the engine bay......again!

Used nitromores to strip the paint off the old rocker cover:-

Sprayed the rocker using hammerite hammered effect spray then used flame red enamel paint for details:-

When I was preping the rocker cover i ripped the breather bung at the back of cover. Tried to get one from nissan but they don't sell them! was told to go scrapyard of one which would have cost me £10 -15 providing they had one.
So I thought o_O .......... the hole looks about half inch so why can;t i tap it and put in a threaded piece!
Thats exactly what i did.....well not me, a garage made a thread for a half inch BSP thread for me.
Then screwed in the threaded pipe and wala, it worked. Disin't take any pics tho.

Also gave it a full service + gearbox oil change + coolant/radiator flushed and changed to some nice red stuff :)

Next on the agenda.......... Spray the wheels(spare GTI set) just not sure what colour.
Thinking gloss black with white rim?............any thoughts, suggestions or alternatives appreciated.
 
just go gloss black they'd show the white up better down side tho it will make the wheels look smaller, liking the finish on the rocker n thumbs up to creativity on the breather adaptation but i cudda got u a bung for nowt it does pay to know me lmao
 
Yeah gloss black will make them look smaller, hoping keeping the rim white/silver will break the illusion of small wheels. Have been thinking gun metal to......or go whacky and make them red?!
