VSpec's N16 DCi

Good work on the trials but imo it doesn't work the liner lines are very sharp and kind of square and it just doesn't work with the N16 rounded looks

Regarding it touching the wheels...You'll be ok with it tilted up. Check the lines of the bumper with the car. What i would advise is to use the top part of the standard bumper so you've got the right mounting and profile. Then you can blend the R34 bumper in at the correct angle. It'll bring it away from the wheel, raise the front lip, and fix those gaps...

The bumper is touching the wheels.. Soon as you add wind load to it its byebye bumper

It's actually been fine, maybe because there's so many holes for the wind to channel through too, however on harsh cornering mainly roundabouts it does seem to touch a little, but only when the suspension is working due to a slight bump etc.

Fucking disgusting.

Just what I thought when I saw your avatar :) .

Yes I know what you mean Chunky, however Ed has advised this a while back,

I think you could easily blend a cutout on to this. Also use the tops of the stock bumper where it meets the wings. Plus in my opinion you need to match the skirts and traffic apron to suit.

Will look in to doing this :) Cheers Ed

I attempted to clean my MAF sensor just took it in & out didnt get round to cleaning it as I got stuck & didnt know what was next the MAF seemed enclosed (unlike some pics I've seen cleaning the MAF sensor with a brush etc) seems impossible with what I saw when I took it out, I hope some diesel heads who have done this on theres can help, please!!

I gave Garnz a shout but no reply yet, just need some help now as now my engine lights come on I'm thinking maybe I've not clicked it back right. Hope with some advice from you guys I can fix it else I may need to buy 1 from Ed if he still has it.

On the other hand I got busy & wire Brushed my Bc coilovers that I bought from Darren (amongst other goodies, cheer mate), my springs are 5/4 just wondering if that's goig to be a prob for my heavy diesel front, as I saw a thread a while ago Edk asking for a swap for some 8/6 iirc.

I bought some Hammerite paint to treat these BCs but Thanks to Laim I bought some Plasti Dip which I was advised is better as it is flexible so won't crack & peel like normal paint+it has some Anti rust propeties preventing it from road salts & other rusting agents, something like that I believe it's on there website. Only bad thing is Tins are quite dear IMO, but if it does the job & prevents corroision in future, it's all good!!

Couple of pics to show clean/dirty coilover

What part needs treating? I've not done mine since new and there's no rust.

Yes 5kg up front you're going to feel it wallow a lot with the heavy front end. Id recommend minimum 7kg for us.

Wow - that's some amount of crud on those coilies  I gave mine a clean every time the wheels were off, but smearing some vaseline on the threads helps to stave off the salt in winter.

Wow thats amazing, the rears springs just showing minimal flaking (no rust) body was fine, but the front springs were effected the most, middle of the spring was fine just top & bottom edges that were flaking with rust (2 coils on both ends), & the body is a little rusty on the inside of the body underneath, hope it makes sense sorry I havent got any pics would make life easier!
Daz even treated them when he got them & Plastered them with copper grease all over, but the Damn water still got through.

What is the best spring set up if 7 is minimum, & I believe springs can be bought separately from BC..?

Good Idea that, I've been advised to copper grease them then tape around it to stop the crap sticking to it.

NICE motor, lovely find - not even ran in yet lol
Thanks fella :)

There's no 'best' spring setup as it depends on driving style and preference. 7/5 I think is a good start for the DCi.

Not much has happened to my n16 during the downtime just got some amber r34 indicators, oh & just recently I've managed to get my hands on some clear ones just waiting on them (thinking off tinting them slightly, or maybe just go to stage 3 & get the smoked nismo ones if a set becomes auctioned on fleabay).

Changed the rear lights to ph1s much cleaner lines & flows better imo, saying that the ph2 lights have grown on me in recent weeks due to Niges black ph2 rear lights mod. Still 50/50 on wheter to do that.. I do like his mod v.much but love the red gti/sport look & character the ph1s lights bring. Took a crapy shot below with both options (side profile looks best).

Car is still not sitting on Collies but the Collies are sitting somewhere, on the couch (hope the Mrs doesn't see this ;) lol) have treated them with Plasti-Dip (a paint that's very flexible & turns plastic) to protect them from corrosion as advised by Laim (cheers bud), it's great & I recommend it to anyone who would like to protect anything, it's also available in spray form for those that don't know.

Just waiting on my z32 Brakes & 310mm Discs (will get better pics soon, & some more BC springs to bring my set up to 7/5 at the moment I've got 5/4.

Bought second hand on eBay Liam but yes it looked like the DB Power kit. I have advised VSpec that the discs will need to be turned down to fit, or new brackets made. The kit was fitted to an S13.

I see. The discs wont need turning down then, they wont be bigger enough and the pads will overhang.

Where did you buy the kit? DB Power?
Wow cheers Ed dont even need to write up a reply now. Exactly what Eds replied above Liam ;)

Ed & Phil have both helped me out allot with these brake option, pm after pm (appreciate all your time, effort, help & advice guys),I was originally set on getting some r33 brembos which came with rears (which I was going to sell on) & 2 sets of 324mm discs new & old ebc's dimpled & grooved but I lost the bid by £50 they sold for £650, but then I saw the z32s in the related so I just went for them.

Im talking about the brackets. They will hold the caliper spaced for a 312/313mm disc so the pads will overhang the edge of the discs.
